COMHAR outpatient services allow clients to maintain normal activities and relationships with family, community, workplace or school. Services include: Psychiatric Evaluation; Psychotherapy for Individuals, Groups and Families; Medication Assessment and Monitoring; Identification of Need for Other Services; and Referral to Community Resources.

We are currently looking for a Certified Psychiatric Registered Nurse Practitioner for our Outpatient Behavioral Health services who would work specifically with our Adult and Children population with 3-5 years of experience in the field.
Certified Psychiatric Registered Nurse Practitioner Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure thorough, quality, up-to-date medical and health information for clients on case load • Ensure effective coordination of medication prescription and administration for clients on case load
Provide evaluations / mental status exams on referred clients
Maintain all required or requested client / unit documentation (medication notes, mental status forms, entitlement forms, medical information reports, incident reports, etc.) of clients on case load
Meet once a week, or as needed, with attending Psychiatrist assigned to unit to review all new clients during supervision
Work closely with treatment team in reviewing client services, progress and treatment planning
Ensure that all medical supplies and apparatus are secured
Ensure timely and effective communication with clients, families, providers, caseworkers, advocates and other medical professionals involved in clients care
Ensure compliance to all internal and external regulations, policies and procedures
Ensure continued professional development and self-improvement
Collaborates with a licensed physician/psychiatrist who serves in a supervisory and consultative capacity
Perform special projects as assigned
Certified Psychiatric Registered Nurse Practitioner Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the Certified Psychiatric Registered Nurse Practitioner is regularly required to talk or hear others and accurately interpret speech and sounds. Frequently required to stand; walk; climb and descend stairs. Required to use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry objects. Required to sit; stand, maintain balance; occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception & ability to adjust optical focus for reading, driving, general observation and for all safety needs.

Qualifications:
Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse with the State Board of Nursing and experience in mental health/psychiatry
Psychiatric certificate required
Must have previous experience working with Children and Adults
Valid driver's license required
3-5 years of experience in the field required
Bilingual preferred

COMHAR's Long Term Structured Residences (LTSR) are located in Northampton County. This position is in Walnutport, PA. These therapeutic programs are designed to provide 24/7 residential and intensive treatment supports for adults with a variety of psychiatric and health related needs. Individuals requiring this level of care have access to a variety of services including individual and group therapies, psychiatric evaluation, crisis intervention, peer support, psychiatric rehabilitation and medication management.
The multidisciplinary treatment team is comprised of staff that includes a psychiatrist, mental health professionals, licensed nurses, peer specialists, and direct care staff. Services are delivered both on-site and in natural community settings to maximize learning opportunities. Our focus is to assist individuals in developing skills, increasing their independence and stabilizing their psychiatric and physical health symptoms with the goal of moving into lesser structured settings.

Staff Nurse Responsibilities:
The Licensed Practical Nurse works from a recovery framework within the team providing health and wellness care, medication education, group psycho education, therapeutic interventions (evidenced based practices preferred), cultural competence and trauma informed care to help individuals obtain their recovery goals.
Provision of assistance to residents who are unable to self-administer medication. Supervision of self-administered medication when indicated. Injection of medication when prescribed. Participation in education of residents regarding their medications, including assisting residents who are unable to self-administer medication to become able to do so.
Participation in multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings as assigned.
Participation in Quality Improvement Program as assigned.
