How you will make an Impact (Job Summary) SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a member of the Paint team, you are responsible to ensure all parts are free from defect and properly painted/powder coated. We are expanding our paint line and looking for individuals with industrial paint or powder coat experience, sand blasters and general labor to assist the paint team. Opportunities on 1st and 2nd shift available! Pay based on experience. What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities) While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be: 1. Safety * Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business. * Maintain clean, orderly work areas and equipment. * Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor. 2. Quality * Ensure proper and effective operation of entire finishing system throughout the painting process so that all parts and surfaces are free from defects. * Monitor quality of own work and immediately report defective material, unusual conditions, and/or operating difficulties to team lead or supervisor. * Perform light maintenance on equipment, machines, and other devices used in the normal course of the work performed. 3. Delivery * Ability to read work orders so that the correct part numbers are selected, and correct color is applied to parts. * Daily documentation of work performed for required production records. * Utilize small tools such as grinders to remove scratches, excess weld material and burrs. * Operates sandblasting machine to clean surfaces prior to painting or coating. * Coordinate staging and sequencing of hanging of parts, production items, and product components to be painted on overhead conveyor system. * Operate spray painting guns, equipment, and related items in the appropriate/efficient manner, being sure to follow all safety and OSHA standards. * Unload of parts, items, and product components. 4. Culture * Desire to do the right thing * Team player, assisting other team members and departments as needed with other duties not routine to position * Punctual, on time, ready to work, every day What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education) We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has: Required Experience * 1 year experience in manufacturing environment. * Experience sandblast, industrial paint, or similar operation Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Positive attitude. * Ability to communicate both verbally and written. * Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as a team. * Attention to detail * Process improvement mindset * Safety oriented. * Excellent attendance Education & Certifications * High school diploma or equivalent Travel & Working Environment The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
