Essential Qualifications
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience. The Position
The Medical Publications & Communications Intern will support Medical Affairs activities at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals by assisting with publication planning, reference management, and medical communications operations. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting scientific publications and promotional review processes while gaining exposure to cross-functional collaboration and project coordination. The intern's work will help ensure consistency, accuracy, and timely execution of medical communications initiatives.
This is an 11-week Summer Internship Program paying $24.00 per hour and requires full-time, onsite work five days per week at the designated location.
Responsibilities
Support reference repository management, including organizing libraries and pulling citations as needed.
Assist with publications support, including proofing documents and helping manage timelines and milestones within publication plans.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Assist in drafting and editing content for social media, newsletters, blog posts, press releases, and website updates
Help collect, organize, and share participant stories in a respectful and impactful way
Support the coordination and promotion of events and campaigns
Assist with internal and external communications, including emails and outreach materials
Take and organize photos or videos from events and activities (as permitted)
Help maintain consistent branding and messaging across all platforms
Conduct research on communications strategies, media trends, and outreach best practices
Provide administrative support to the communications and development teams as needed
Maintain organized digital files of media assets and communications materials
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the mission of the program and organization
Requirements
BACKGROUND YOU'LL NEED:
Must be currently attending a university or college while pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree to be considered for the position. This a requirement.
Must have a Valid Driver's License or State ID is required.
Must be at least 18-24 years of age is required.
An interest in Communications or Marketing is preferred.
Familiarity with or interest in design software like, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or Affinity; CRMs such as Constant Contact or Mailchimp; and platforms like Hootsuite is a plus is preferred.
Comfortable working with diverse communities and passionate about accessibility and inclusion is required.
Familiar with AbilityFirst and the services received at any of our sites is a plus.
Willingness to work with folks of diverse experiences and backgrounds
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at Major League Baseball media relations and operations. This intern is expected to work during every home-game of the 2026 Los Angeles Angels season.
The tentative start date for this position will be March 16, 2026 and go through October 9, 2026. The hourly pay rate for this position is $16.90/hr. Key Responsibilities
Pregame Preparation & Distribution
Compile and distribute essential game-day materials, including official stat packs, rosters, lineup sheets, and comprehensive game notes.

Assist in the preparation of press conferences and media availability sessions.
In-Game & Postgame Operations
Manage press box logistics to ensure a professional environment for visiting and local media.
Research, write, and distribute detailed postgame notes immediately following the conclusion of all home games.
Assist with the distribution of media credentials and guest passes.
Administrative & Research Support
Conduct extensive statistical research projects to support the needs of the coaching staff, front office, and media partners.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Communications leadership team.
Qualifications & Skills
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelors degree in Communications or similar preferred.
A deep understanding of baseball rules, history, and current trends is essential.
Strong copy-editing and writing skills with the ability to produce accurate content under tight deadlines.
