    Job Description We are looking for Medical Assistants to perform clinical and administrative tasks for both Pediatric and Adult patients under the direct supervision of a licensed physician. The MA will assist with patient preparation for exams, minor office procedures, and with the examination and education of patients. The MA supports other members of the clinical team by assuring optimal patient flow. Key Functions & Responsibilities Greet patients and family members in a courteous manner. Screen patients and document information accurately in patient's chart. Escort patients to treatment room, preparing patient with clear instructions. Prepare patients for examination and perform routine screening tests. Measure and record vital signs. Assist with medical procedures. Perform Phlebotomy, EKG, and collection of lab specimens. Educate patients and family members concerning the visit and procedures performed. Provide all proper discharge and follow up instructions to patients. Perform outreach calls to patients and specialty offices as requested. Check electronic outbox of providers and address urgent issues. Complete EHR data entry Adhere to all safety protocols including standard precautions, transmission-based precautions, and other infection control policies. Minimum Qualifications High School graduate, or equivalent. 1 year experience is preferred; not required. Must have current MA Certificate from an accredited school. Current BLS/CPR certification required. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and / or infection control standards. Knowledge of methods, procedures and protocols, including federal, state and local laws handling and disposal of hazardous biochemical waste products. Communication skills (including appropriate medical terminology) Ability to use good reasoning and judgment to react calmly in emergency situations. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Why work at CCI? POSITION SUMMARY: The Dental Assistant works under the supervision of the Dental Services Manager and is responsible for a wide range of tasks in the Dental Center, including patient care, administrative duties, laboratory, and x-ray functions. The Dental Assistant position requires a diverse set of skills: clinical, clerical, interpersonal, and technological. The Dental assistant must have a license to conduct x-rays. As a member of the health center's integrated care team, the Dental Assistant will fulfill the following KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES towards the provision of patient-centered, coordinated patient care: Sterilizing dental instruments and equipment for each patient. Organizing and laying out instruments for Provider's use. Handing instruments and other materials to Provider during procedures. Providing patient care and assistance to Provider as needed. Taking X-Rays of patients' teeth. Make appointments, answer telephones and questions, making follow-up calls. Process billing and collections. Collecting and recording patient health histories, taking blood pressure and pulse. Scan Dental Forms in Dentrix Process and Follow up on Referrals. Deliver patient oral care instructions. Complete Dental Charting on Dentrix software. Conduct pre-visit planning and set up trays for the following day. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of sterile procedures; cleaning specifications of various dental equipment, fixtures, utensils, and related materials. Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and maintaining quality control standards. Knowledge of methods, procedures, and protocols for the handling and disposing of hazardous waste materials. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to foster a positive work environment. Excellent computer skills. Ability to make appointments, answer phones and questions, and contact patients for follow-up. Ability to process billing and collections. Provide a positive attitude and behavior. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: License to operate X-Ray equipment in the state of Maryland Dental Assistant licenses are a plus Current CPR certification High School diploma or equivalent Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community Why work at CCI?
