We are seeking an experienced, energetic Preschool Teacher for our Head Start Classroom at our Sharon's Place Early Learning Center located in Bethel. A Preschool Teacher is part of a teaching team, under the direction of a Lead Teacher. This position is 40 hours and 50 weeks per year.
Starting Pay Range: $18.42-$19.42/hour depending on education and experience
This position is currently eligible for an additional monthly wage supplement through the State of Maine Early Childhood Educator Workforce Salary Supplement Program. The tiered supplements are currently in payments of $240, $360, or $540 monthly. Visit maine.gov/dhhs for more information.
Essential Duties:
Collaborate with Lead Teacher and contribute to high-quality preschool programming
Planning activities and tailoring curriculum to meet children's social, emotional, physical, literacy, and cognitive development
Communicating with and supporting families in meet their children's and families' needs

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required, with a commitment to complete an agency-paid Child Development Associate credential program or enroll in approved college coursework or a program that will lead to an Associate within two years of the time of hire

Other Requirements: Experience in an early childhood setting; ability to function autonomously and as part of a team; excellent communication skills; considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry, and perform other high-energy activities; competency with Microsoft Office; ability to obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in education, or a closely related field such as literacy, English, or linguistics, from an accredited institution is required.
Experience studying, working, or teaching abroad.
Ability to speak more than one language is preferred.
Strong intercultural communication skills are a must.
Flexibility, teaching skills, and cultural sensitivity are required.
Ability to travel locally, requiring a valid driver's license.
Preferred:
Master's degree in teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or a closely related field such as education, literacy, or linguistics, from an accredited institution.
Previous teaching experience.
Online and Hybrid/Blended Learning teaching experience.
