What You'll Do:
The Pap Navigator RN monitors Pap and HPV results and implements guidelines for management with provider supervision and direction. Responsible for thorough chart review on each patient's result to ensure that we are meeting the current standards for Cervical Cancer Screening, which are risk-based, determined by a patient's history and health status. Provide patient education, coordination of care, and decision-making support for patients. Participate in regular Team Meetings. It is important for this team of nurses to be adaptable and quickly be able to pivot and implement changes related to guidelines.
Responsible for organizing and providing nursing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation and job descriptions. Contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and meets the requirements of the Joint Commission if applicable and/or other federal, state and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. Responsible for care coordination, patient education, and decision-making support for patients. Serves as a single point of contact for referring physicians, patients, and caregivers to provide resources and assistance with accessing clinical and supportive care services offered within Essentia and in the community. Participates in conferences and committees, assisting the entire care team in developing optimal care plans for each individual. The Registered Nurse ECMO Specialist provides nursing care to cardiac or respiratory failure patients who require ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) therapy within the Cardiovascular ICU. This includes patient management, monitoring, and maintenance of the ECMO circuit, and responsibilities related to rapid response for ECMO cannulation, equipment/pump initiation, and set-up. Initial training will be within the Cardiovascular ICU as a staff RN and the expectation will be to float between the staff RN role as well as the ECMO Specialist role. While ECMO experience would be a plus, training will be provided within the department. The Cardiovascular ICU is a 24-bed unit that serves some of the sickest cardiac/vascular patients in the city.
