Medical assistant job at Community Health of South Florida
The Medical Scribe is responsible for providing real-time, accurate medical documentation and support to physicians. The Scribe will play an integral role in ensuring that we maintain high standards of patient care by providing timely and accurate documentation to support medical decision making. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing skills, excellent medical terminology knowledge and be able to work in a fast- paced environment. The candidate will work closely with the physicians to document patient history, physical exams, and procedures in the electronic health record (EHR). The Scribe will also be responsible for other clerical tasks, such as preparing patient charts and retrieving lab results.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. College sophomore or higher preferred, preferably with a pre-med or nursing major. Prior experience working in Ob/Gyn, Cardiology office a plus.
Licensure / Certification: CPR-BLS required.
Skills / Attributes: Strong computer skills and proficiency using an electronic medical record desired. Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail. Strong understanding of medical vocabulary, abbreviations and terminology. Have a patient and compassionate demeanor. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist healthcare professionals in documenting patient encounters accurately and efficiently
Enter patient information into the electronic health record system
Help maintain accurate patient medical history and update records as needed
Maintain confidentiality of patient records and information
Timely and accurately complete EHR entries following each patient encounter

Clinical Care Coordinator I - Medical Assistant

The Clinical Care Coordinator I demonstrate the competency to provide patient care according to the age-specific population needs and assist in the management of patient care in the physician office setting under the direct supervision of a provider.
Required Qualifications
- Require current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or National Healthcare Association (NHA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT); or a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) by the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP); or a certified EMT.
Note: Experienced medical assistants with a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience, and with a certification from a certifying agency not noted above, or without certification, agrees to register with one of the currently accepted agencies for MA Certification and schedule a test date within 6 months from date of Hire. Test for certification may be beyond the six (6) month date. Certification must be received and presented to HR within 12 months of date of hire.
- Require Basic Life Support/CPR certification; or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire/transfer date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer one (1) year of clinical experience in an outpatient physician's office practice.
- Prefer experience with electronic practice management and electronic health record programs.
- Prefer the ability to demonstrate self-direction and initiative.
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of electronic practice management and electronic health records software along with skill in all Microsoft office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).

Our urgent care centers are open 7 days a week, 8am-8pm. Evenings, weekends and holidays are required. Additionally, shifts can vary from 8 hour shifts to 10 and 12 hour shifts. Flexibility to work at all 7 of our urgent care locations is also required, however schedule location preferences will be taken into consideration.
