Medical office assistant job at Community Medical Center
Wages start at $18.40hr and increase with experience. This is a TPD (0.2 Status), day shift MedicalAssistant position at the CPG Advanced Pain and Spine Institute. Major responsibility to assist the physicians and nurses with patients. This includes: greeting, escorting patients to the exam rooms, taking vitals, height, weight, histories, updating medication, developing and maintain patient education materials, preparing patient equipment and medication prescriptions for the Physician, telephone in prescription refills with Physician's approval, charting, preparing informed consent forms for invasive procedures, calling physician orders to other health provider agencies, i.e. home health, nursing home, therapists, securing x-ray films and preparing labs for the doctors, order clinical supplies, clean exam rooms, maintaining instruments, remove outdated medications, administering vaccination. This job will also entail occasionally filling in for patient access: checking in patients, answering the phone, filing and pulling charts.
Minimum Required:
* High School diploma or equivalent and advanced training to completion in a MedicalAssistant program or certified nursing aide program.
* One (1) to two (2) years of experience in medical field.
* Medical Terminology.
* BLS upon hire; Healthcare Provider BLS within three (3) months of hire.
* Obtain RMA status within 18 months of hire.
* Basic computer knowledge.
Preferred/Desired:
* Registered or Certified MedicalAssistant preferred.
On-Call/Weekend Requirements: No.

Under general supervision, assists in the delivery of patient care/treatment and provides clerical and administrative support. * May perform patient care tasks to include but not limited to stitch and staple removal, application of dressings, ear lavage, splints and casts, etc. after demonstrated competency.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
* High school diploma or equivalent
Other Minimum Qualifications
* Six (6) months related work experience in a health care environment required to develop proficiency in basic MedicalAssistant procedures and processes encompassing all age groups, preferred.
* Successful completion of department orientation, skills competencies specific to department
* Completion of 54 LMS modules within six (6) months of hire (proof of completion of college medical terminology with a C or better; may be used in lieu of modules)
* Completion of Personal Accountability class within first six (6) months of hire
* Departments requiring basic IM injections must complete above requirements, CDC modules, injection class, and department skills competency. Along with department manager and physician approval.
* Required to obtain certification or registration within fifteen (15) months of hire through organizations approved by Billings Clinic. If coming from a medicalassisting program; must be obtained within 90 days of program completion.
Additional Qualifications for Level II
* Certification or Registration (within 90 days of employment) if hiring criteria was met without this.)
* Completion of all department requirements and competencies for a Level 1.
* Required to help with externs and simulation labs depending on organizational and department needs.
* Approval of Department Manager and Supervising Physician with no current disciplinary actions.
* The following criteria could result in employee moving to a lower level and a reduction in pay;
* Department transfers with different unit specific requirements/training.
* Department transfers to areas with limited levels.
* Request of physician.
* Continue on-going education for additional duties/skills of an advanced level.

The MedicalAssistant II performs more complex patient care tasks compared to a Level I, including administering medications, assisting with minor procedures, and taking a more active role in patient preparation and education. This position plays a vital role in enhancing the patient care experience while ensuring the efficient functioning of the clinical environment.
Essential Job Functions
* Ensure compliance with all mandatory organizational and departmental standards, including those related to employee, patient safety, and job performance.
* Maintain competency in organizational, departmental, and external agency standards related to the environment, patient care, and safety.
* Prepare patient exam rooms, equipment, and supplies based on specific patient needs and examination requirements.
* Assist with patient scheduling for appointments, diagnostic tests, treatments, procedures, and surgeries. May also help with registration and co-pay collection.
* Obtain and record patient history and vital signs, assist with minor procedures, and document in the medical record.
* Collect laboratory specimens, ensuring proper labeling and handling according to department guidelines.
* Clean and disinfect equipment per Billings Clinic infection control protocols.
* Administer vaccines as per department guidelines and individual leveling requirements.
* Assist physicians and APPs with minor procedures and physical exams, such as stitch removal, application of dressings, ear lavage, and splinting.
* Administer medications, as specified in department guidelines, once appropriate training has been completed.
* Provide instruction to patients as directed by the physician, APP, or in accordance with department policies and procedures.
* Answer and screen incoming telephone calls, directing them to the appropriate nurse, physician, or APP as needed.
* Order and maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment according to department requirements.
* Maintain and update patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
* Compile statistical data and reports as directed by supervisors or department leadership.
* Attend required meetings and participate in committees as needed to support department operations.

Wages start at $18.40hr and increase with experience. This is a full-time (0.8 - 1.0 Status) day shift MedicalAssistant position in the CPG First Care Trempers - MedicalAssistant clinic. Major duty is to assist physicians and nurses with patients. This includes: greeting, escorting patients to exam rooms, taking vitals, height, weight, histories, updating medications, developing and maintaining patient education materials, preparing patient equipment and medication prescriptions for the Physician, phoning in prescription refills with Physician's approval, charting, preparing informed consent forms for invasive procedures, calling physician orders to other health provider agencies (i.e. home health, nursing home, therapists), securing x-ray films and preparing labs for doctors, ordering clinical supplies, cleaning exam rooms, maintaining instruments, removing outdated medications and administering vaccinations. Minimum Required: High School diploma or equivalent and advanced training to completion in a medicalassistant program. One to two years experience in medical field. Medical Terminology. COVID-19 Update:
Community Medical Center is hiring top talent but we also have a mission of Making Communities Healthier, which means keeping our community safe and to reduce the risk of exposure. We have modified our conditions of employment to include COVID-19 vaccination unless a documented medical or religious exemption is approved.
Employees may meet this requirement by providing proof of having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with any of the three COVID-19 vaccines (manufactured by Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson). Employees are considered fully vaccinated if they are at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen.
This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol Testing according to MT Law 39-2-205-39-2-211.
