Minimum Qualifications Education * High school diploma or equivalent Other Minimum Qualifications * Six (6) months related work experience in a health care environment required to develop proficiency in basic Medical Assistant procedures and processes encompassing all age groups, preferred. * Successful completion of department orientation, skills competencies specific to department * Completion of 54 LMS modules within six (6) months of hire (proof of completion of college medical terminology with a C or better; may be used in lieu of modules) * Completion of Personal Accountability class within first six (6) months of hire * Departments requiring basic IM injections must complete above requirements, CDC modules, injection class, and department skills competency. Along with department manager and physician approval. * Required to obtain certification or registration within fifteen (15) months of hire through organizations approved by Billings Clinic. If coming from a medical assisting program; must be obtained within 90 days of program completion. Wages start at $18.40hr and increase with experience. This is a full-time (0.8 - 1.0 Status) day shift Medical Assistant position in the CPG First Care Trempers - Medical Assistant clinic. Major duty is to assist physicians and nurses with patients. This includes: greeting, escorting patients to exam rooms, taking vitals, height, weight, histories, updating medications, developing and maintaining patient education materials, preparing patient equipment and medication prescriptions for the Physician, phoning in prescription refills with Physician's approval, charting, preparing informed consent forms for invasive procedures, calling physician orders to other health provider agencies (i.e. home health, nursing home, therapists), securing x-ray films and preparing labs for doctors, ordering clinical supplies, cleaning exam rooms, maintaining instruments, removing outdated medications and administering vaccinations. This job will also entail occasionally filling in for patient access: checking in patients, answering the phone, filing and pulling charts. Minimum Required: High School diploma or equivalent and advanced training to completion in a medical assistant program. One to two years experience in medical field. Medical Terminology.
