Job Description
The Laborer supports underground construction crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure. This role involves physical labor, working in outdoor environments, and assisting with trenching, conduit installation, and site restoration. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and eager to learn the telecom industry.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with underground utility construction, including trenching, digging, and backfilling
Support installation of conduit, duct banks, handholes, and vaults
Help pull, place, and secure fiber optic and copper cables
Operate basic hand and power tools (shovels, compactors, saws, drills, etc.)
Assist with locating and protecting existing utilities
Set up and maintain work zones, including traffic control and safety barriers
Perform site cleanup and restoration (concrete, asphalt, sod, dirt, gravel)
Follow all OSHA, company, and jobsite safety procedures
Work as part of a crew to meet production and quality goals
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous construction, utility, or labor experience preferred (not required)
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Ability to lift 75-100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
Willingness to learn underground telecom construction methods
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
Ability to pass background check and drug screening (if required)
