Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for taking care of the facilitys general cleanliness ensuring a neat and sanitary environment for employees and residents.
Education and Experience:

Education and/or Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ludwig and Company, an Illinois property management firm with properties in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, is seeking to fill 1 janitor/light maintenance position. The position will be assigned to our 230 unit apartment community located in Chicago, IL.
Under the direction of the maintenance supervisor, the janitor is responsible for general cleaning and minor maintenance duties in maintaining multifamily housing complex, adjacent walks and grounds, and equipment in clean, orderly, and functional condition. Provides assistance to residents, visitors, and other employees as necessary.
Receives oral or written orders from maintenance supervisor.
Performs work according to standard procedure and by buildings operational schedule.
Cleans rooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, stairways, and windows.
Uses general cleaning equipment to maintain cleanliness.
Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs.
Prepares community rooms for use by tenants, staff, and organizations.
Clears snow from entrances & walkways.
Picks up and delivers supplies & materials to units.
Follows all applicable safety rules & procedures.
Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to supervisor.
Ability to shovel snow and do light weeding.

No experience required
Ability to lift & carry objects weighing from 25 to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in poor weather conditions.
Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Valid Driver License.
The Janitor will maintain the cleanliness of the dealership which will include all departments, common areas, restrooms etc. The ideal candidate has a high energy level, a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.This applicant must have at least 1-2 years experience as a Janitor, cleaner, or porter. He or she must have great communication and customer service skills, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude. Previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
Maintain the cleanliness of the showroom, Service and Parts areas including all common areas, offices, and restrooms (mop, sweep, strip/wax/buff floors, dust, vacuum and garbage removal).
Ensure that all bathrooms are monitored for cleanliness throughout the day.
Provide excellent customer service to residents.
General upkeep of the buildings, trash rooms and grounds.
Maintain all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
1-2 years prior janitor, cleaner, or porter experience.
Must be reliable and have experience working with cleaning chemicals.
Must be a team player and be able to work with little supervision.
Excellent time management skills and work ethic needed.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be able to stand for an 8 hour shift.
Light maintenance knowledge is a plus.
Bilingual a Plus!
