DC Group company history timeline

1995

The resulting album “Ballbreaker” came out September 26, 1995 and spawned the hit single “Hard as a Rock”. An enormous world tour followed with the band selling out arenas the world over.

1997

In November of 1997 they gave fans a treat in the form of the “Bonfire” boxset which contained studio out-takes, demos and live recordings featuring Bon Scott.

With the rise of Latin music, NARAS created LARAS in 1997.

1998

Offices open in Washington, DC and Phoenix 1998

2000

Fans meanwhile were wondering when AC/DC would get back into the studio and give them a new album! The answer came in February 2000 when they released “Stiff Upper Lip” and album heralded as the band’s return to their heavy blues riffs.

The first Latin Grammy Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles in 2000, with award winners including Shakira and Carlos Santana.

2001

Expands public affairs work to Europe 2001

2003

AC/DC was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

2005

Exept the DVD release "Family Jewels", March 2005, with many rare AC/DC stuff, it was very quit about the Band.

2007

Another DVD Box Set is released in October 2007, there are two Versions, one as a 2 DVD Box and an Deluxe Edition with 3 DVD, Poster and Stickers.

2011

In 2011 NARAS radically restructured the Grammy category system and reduced the total number of awards from 109 to 78.

2014

In 2014 AC/DC announced that founding member Malcolm Young had been diagnosed with dementia and had retired.

He was replaced by his nephew Stevie Young, whose first album with the band was Rock or Bust (2014), which achieved commercial success.

2016

In 2016, after the Rock or Bust tour was completed, Williams announced his retirement.
