Job Summary
Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Lays out, burn, cope, positions, aligns, and fits components together
* Clamps and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding
* Sets up equipment and welds parts using flux cored arc welding equipment.
* Operates grinder, saw, and other hand tools to complete assignments
* Assembles parts by bolting and welding
* Operates overhead cranes to move large steel material
Qualifications
* One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience and training
* Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals
* Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment
* 2 - 5 years of experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Ability to pass a weld test
* Ability to read blue prints and use simple math skills
* Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
* Ability to pass a drug test

Welds all vessels (including large ASME) and structural components utilizing SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW and GMAW welding processes. Performs these procedures to meet CCC certified procedures. (These may include ASME, API, AWS, and ANSI code certification.) Materials may include carbon steel, stainless steel and various other nickel-based alloys.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)
Able to pass non-destructive testing of pressure retaining welds, on both pipe and vessels
Works from drawings/sketches to determine weld size, weld location and weld process
Inspects own work to ensure compliance to drawings and weld procedures and makes necessary repairs
Assist with incoming parts inspection and final product inspection and complete appropriate documentation
Operate Fork trucks, jib cranes and overhead crane
Complete ASME code weld log documentation daily
Comply with company policies
Material handling/movement
Welding
Assist in other areas of the plan as assigned
Specific qualifications for this technology welding role include:
A High School diploma or Trade School certification is required

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is no ordinary tank construction company. We specialize in the complex and fast-paced environment of tank repair on a nationwide scale. We build and repair welded above-ground storage tanks (ASTs), bolted tanks, and related structures. Day to Day Duties:
Performing arc and torch cutting and gouging.
Using generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power and air tools.

Knowledge of crane operations (including rigging and signaling)
Reading detailed erection and fabrication drawings.
Planning the sequence and methods of fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks.
Completing job safety analysis, safety audits, site-specific training, and other safety training.
Follow directions and work professionally with other crew members. \

The Welder is responsible for the prep, layout, tack, weld, test, complex pipe spools and complex piping systems to work packages, drawings, PI&Ds per ASME B31.1 and MIL TP278, to production schedule under the guidance of the shop superintendent.
What You Will Be Doing
* Perform pipe welding with pipe fitting experience using knowledge of codes and specifications
* Reads and deciphers work packages, work scope, engineered drawings, and PI&Ds
* Works with the pipe shop group with a focus on quality, customer compliance, and schedule
* Assemble piping spools, weld, test, and assure all shop packages are complete, and work is compliant before presenting to QA
* Assures welding equipment is in good working condition and reports any malfunctions or maintenance needed
* Have all personal gear to perform pipe welding and fitting including welding gear, measuring devices, levels square, etc. maintained in good condition
* Additional duties as assigned
Your Background
* High school Graduate, related to Trade school and no less than 5 years' work history/experience in this industry required
* Have experience in GTAW processes. Must qualify to Pipe in the 6-G position Per ASME Section IX using the GTAW process. Experience in structural welding using GMAW in various positions to AWS D1.1. Proven past welding qualification history is a plus
* Decipher welding symbols, reads, and follows work packages, drawings, PI&Ds, and blueprints
* Use various measuring equipment
* Full range of mechanical knowledge as well as the ability to fabricate and install piping on equipment as specified on drawings and PI&Ds
* 5+ years of experience

Day to Day Duties:
Performing arc and torch cutting and gouging.
Using generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power and air tools.
Welding plate with 7018, 7024 and 6010 stick (SMAW), flux core (FCAW), and submerged arc automatic machines (3 o'clock and “goat”/tractor).
Using come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, hoists, air bags, winches, and other lifting equipment.
Using tank shell buggies, tank scaffolding, tank ladders, and other specialty equipment.
Performing vacuum box tests, oil tests, dye penetrant tests, and other non-destructive quality examinations.
Using gas monitors, fresh air kits, respirators, emergency rescue kits, and other safety equipment.
Operating forklifts, man lifts, boom lifts, and other large lifting equipment.
Knowledge of crane operations (including rigging and signaling)
Reading detailed erection and fabrication drawings.
Planning the sequence and methods of fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks.
Completing job safety analysis, safety audits, site-specific training, and other safety training.
Follow directions and work professionally with other crew members. \
Other duties as assigned.

The ability to solve problems and suggest improvements to our systems.
Have excellent attendance and show up to work on time every day.
The willingness to learn.
Be at least 18 years old.
Be able to lift 50 lbs.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be eligible to work in the United States.
Be willing to authorize background checks.
Have no criminal convictions for dishonesty, sexual misconduct, violence, or acts of terrorism.
Have a valid driver's license.
Be willing to authorize motor vehicle driving record checks.
Be willing to submit to pre-hire, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol testing.

Job Summary
Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Lays out, burn, cope, positions, aligns, and fits components together
Clamps and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding
Sets up equipment and welds parts using flux cored arc welding equipment.
Operates grinder, saw, and other hand tools to complete assignments
Assembles parts by bolting and welding
Operates overhead cranes to move large steel material
Qualifications
One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience and training
Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals
Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment
2 - 5 years of experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Ability to pass a weld test
Ability to read blue prints and use simple math skills
Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
Ability to pass a drug test
