JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in the emergency room. Triages each patient and determines priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Assists physicians during examinations and emergency procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical record, and updates attending physician directly when necessary.
Working in conjunction with the Emergency Department Director and Clinical Care Supervisor, the RN assesses, plans, implements and collaborates with other departments to ensure excellence in patient and family care, reflective of CCMH mission, vision and values. The RN will integrate departmental goals for improvement across the care continuum. He/She may coordinate and delegate unit and patient care activities, as appropriate, to other health care providers. The RN practices within the framework of the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association professional standards, National Patient Safety Goals, and the Emergency Nurses Association Standards

JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care to cardiac patients and communicate with the physician continuously to ensure patient safety during procedures. ChristianaCare Cardiology Consultants is a large practice consisting of more than 25 physicians and 16 advanced practice clinicians providing specialized cardiac care for residents in DE, PA, NJ and MD.
This position covers inpatient areas at both Newark and Wilmington Campus, as well as coverage as needed at our Cecil Campus. The selected candidate requires rotating through a variety of roles which include daily rounding, ED and floor consults, pre and post procedural care, stress test monitoring, and both acute and chronic outpatient management of patients with a cardiology diagnosis. The primary shift is comprised of 10 hour days from 7am - 5pm with weekend, nights, and holiday requirements as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be willing to obtain MDS Certification within first year of employment.

Position Description:
Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and executive leadership of the FDVA Homes Program.
Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care.
Monitor resident outcomes and quality measures.
Coordinates and oversees all functions of the FDVA Homes Program's MDS Assessment process to assure compliance with Federal and State requirements. Performs audits to assure prompt completion and transmission of the required MDS Assessment.
Coordinates with Billing to assure accurate RAI-MDS and billing process.
Develops and provides educational programs to the Interdisciplinary Team members.
Prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys and inspections.
Assist in identifying and correcting deficient practices.
Ensure staff competency and licensure compliance.
Review and update nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Oversee infection control and patient safety programs.
Performs Other Duties as Assigned.
