Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on equipment including excavators, loaders, skid steers, and more.

Travel to project sites for equipment service to minimize downtime and keep operations moving.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and parts usage.
Communicate with operators and site supervisors to proactively identify performance issues and prioritize fixes.
Ensure all work complies with DOT, OSHA, and internal safety and environmental standards.
Maintain an organized inventory of parts, tools, and supplies; report needs promptly.
Requirements
Proven experience with heavy diesel equipment repair and hydraulic systems (required).
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently at job sites.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to prioritize under pressure and work efficiently in changing environments.
Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain).
ASE Certification or equivalent vocational/mechanical training (preferred).

Job Summary: We are seeking a dependable and skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair the machinery that powers industrial residuals operations. This hands-on role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and servicing heavy equipment-ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted yard operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment, including Terragators, tractors, pumps and slurry buggies.
Perform preventative maintenance (oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, filter replacement) to minimize downtime.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Experience:

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MECHANIC
As a Mechanic, you spend your day troubleshooting electrical systems on vehicles and performs required repairs. What You'll Do:

Maintain records relating to maintenance. Document and report all activities in a centrally managed maintenance management system.
Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and military management personnel utilizing good judgment in recognizing scope of authority. Investigate and adjust customer complaints and concerns regarding fuel systems maintenance.

Operating and maintaining a variety of specialized equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures; identifying and reporting mechanical problems requiring additional repair.
Ensuring that safety rules and regulations are followed; utilizing proper safety precautions in all work performed; reporting safety hazards, equipment problems and emergency situations.
Ensuring that hazardous materials are cleaned up and stored according to City policy and procedures; responding to emergencies as needed and performing tasks in the interest of public safety and property protection during emergencies.
May coordinate work of maintenance crew and assign specific tasks to crew members.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, rotating on call position that may include holidays or weekends.

The Mechanic will apply organizational and moderate to advanced level maintenance such that the company owned aircraft, to include the IAR-823, A-90 Raider, PC-9, Helicopter, and OV-10, are serviced, repaired, inspected, and maintained according to approved data. Maintain and repair aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components;
Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation;

Minimum Requirements
Commercial part 121, 135, 145 or military background highly desired. T-6 or PC-9 experience preferred. Must be familiar with, able to read and understand the Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturer manuals. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently or part of a team. Must possess excellent communication and people skills, to include problem solving, organizational, and computer skills. Must be willing to travel. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must have knowledge of airframe, engine (turbine/piston), propeller and hydraulic systems. Must have knowledge of aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications-read, interpret, follow, and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts, and technical publications.
