Definition The City of Columbus, Columbus Water and Power, Division of Water, is accepting applications for a vacant full-time Engineer I position. This position will be responsible for project management duties associated with capital improvement projects, and reviewing proposed plans and specifications affecting the water distribution system to ensure compliance with the Division of Water practices and standards. This position willact as engineer-in-charge of small construction and/or maintenance projects; reviews plans and designs prepared by staff and consulting engineers for conformance to plans, contract specifications, regulations, and codes, and sound engineering principles. Minimum Qualifications

The primary role is a senior member of our engineering services during construction (ESDC) field team. Responsibilities will include leading and coordinating ESDC for major elements of the biosolids treatment upgrades, commissioning and start-up at a wastewater treatment facility in San Francisco (~$2B construction value). Candidate will work closely with the field engineering team, design team including subconsultants, other key technical experts and leaders around the company, the Owner, and contractor. This is a full time position and the role requires being onsite in San Francisco at least three days a week. The position may include work in other Bay Area locations.
Detailed Description:
* Provide on-site engineering services during construction leadership for major portions of the biosolids treatment facility involving civil, structural, electrical, process mechanical, building mechanical, instrumentation and control, and other disciplines. The project includes sludge pumping, thickening, pre-dewatering, thermal hydrolysis pretreatment, sludge cooling, anaerobic digestion, final dewatering, cake storage and loadout, recycled water treatment, odor control, steam generation and associated utility and auxiliary systems.
* Coordinate with engineering design discipline leads and technical reviewers to respond to requests for information (RFIs)
* Work collaboratively with Owner's team, construction manager, and contractor to resolve technical issues during construction
* Become familiar with the project plans and specifications for technical and contractual requirements
* Review technical submittals and designers review comments for conformance with contract requirements
* Assistance with start-up and commissioning operations
* Review change order merit with respect to design requirements
Desired Skills and Experience:
* Experience in the wastewater/water treatment engineering and construction
* 10 years' design and construction related experience on various water and wastewater projects.
* Familiarity with process mechanical upgrades to wastewater facilities
* Prior experience in the construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping plants, water and wastewater treatment plants, or other facility improvement type projects.
* Familiarity in working within operational water and wastewater treatment facilities.
* Familiarity with the start-up, testing, and commissioning of rehabilitated or new plant facility projects.
* Familiarity with local design and construction standards, regulations, and specifications.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
* Ability to complete and maintain company required health and safety training and abide by company's and client's health and safety standards prior to going out in the field.

Job Summary
Information Technology Services at MCCCD is seeking an elite Cybersecurity Engineer to elevate Maricopa's security posture and protect mission-critical systems. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology, information security, computer science, cybersecurity, network security, or a related field and five (5) years of technical experience in the support of networks, systems and technology security.

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or directly related field and two (2) years of technical experience planning and overseeing information technology initiatives such as data security, systems development or network design and related technologies such as intrusion detection systems, vulnerability scanning systems, authentication systems, operating systems and security tools.

* Responsible for maintenance, repair and operation of central heating/cooling plants, back-up electrical power systems, HVAC, water and electrical infrastructure, fire and life safety systems, and food service and refrigeration equipment
* Perform preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment; inspects operating equipment and facility space temperatures; and responds to occupant complaints associated with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

* Assist contract vendors involved with testing fire and life safety systems.
* Operate, maintain, repair and install all equipment as assigned in accordance with guidelines and department policies.
* Work on advanced electronic controls such as computerized temperature control lighting and motor controls.
* Maintain records required by state law and records for accreditation of correctional facilities.
* Drive a county or personal vehicle to job sites.

Under general supervision of the Engineering Services Manager, this position provides technical leadership for dam safety compliance, capital planning, and engineering and construction activities supporting Department infrastructure. The position supports the full lifecycle of assigned assets, including inspection, evaluation, operation, maintenance, rehabilitation, and emergency preparedness, and provides technical support to Department work units by determining appropriate engineering approaches, design standards, and construction methods from project development through construction completion.
The position plans, scopes, and manages engineering studies, inspections, designs, and construction projects performed by consultants, Department staff, and state construction contracts. Duties include developing scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, and procurement documents; reviewing engineering reports and technical analyses for regulatory and standards compliance; performing in-house engineering services and sealing plans and specifications as required; and providing construction administration and field oversight. Budgets: Budgets - Manage budgets to ensure expenditures do not exceed allocations by providing oversight and direction to the development and management of budgets for each functional area.

Job Description
ENGINEERING - SUMMER SEASONAL
The position is responsible to assist the Engineering staff by conducting inspections, surveys, measuring quantities, collecting and implementing GIS data, mapping assistance, preparing reports and calculations, and performing research for various project types which may include roadway paving, stormwater, water and sewer, parking lot, sidewalk, and curb and gutter improvements for public and private construction. The positions will receive direction, guidance, and mentoring from technical and management staff within the Development Services - Engineering department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides inspection and oversight of the installation of public improvement projects and coordinates with City staff on related work.
Performs on-site inspections to ensure conformance with engineering principles and construction standards.
Assist staff with GIS attribute data collection and data entry
Update existing GIS attribute data and migration of historic data
Consults with engineers to discuss and resolve design and construction problems. Communicates with contractors and developers to coordinate construction activities and resolve construction problems.
Composes correspondence and reports to contractors, developers and/or residents as needed to direct and/or coordinate improvement project completion.
Assist with plan and calculations review associated with subdivisions, planned developments, and private developments.
Uses photos and written reports to document existing conditions and compliance/conformance of work.
Ensures compliance with Woodstock's Public Improvement Standards and Details, standard specifications for public works construction, including but not limited to: earthwork, sanitary sewers and water lines, irrigation pipes, storm drains, streetlights, electric, telephone, and dry utility trenches, paving and concrete flatwork, and bridges and structures.
Monitors trenching for alignment and grade, manhole locations and compaction. Checks pipes, valves, and fire hydrants for proper location, type and operations. Monitors conflicts with other utilities.
Inspects forms for curbs, gutters, sidewalks, ADA ramp compliance, and driveways.
Reads and interprets engineering plans, specifications, and details, utility maps, work zone safety plans, and related plans and drawings for constructability to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications, and/or to advise contractors or developers of changes necessary for compliance.
Compiles a punch list and monitors completion of punch list items.
Works cooperatively with other City personnel on projects that involve and/or require involvement of other City departments.
Answers and directs telephone calls. Takes and relays messages.
Photocopies printed materials and runs blueprints. Faxes messages.
Retrieves project files and searches for backup information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, GIS or other closely related field
Completed at least one academic year of college coursework
At least 18 years of age.
A valid Illinois driver's license and good driving record
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to complete reports and calculations using Microsoft Word and Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience using AutoCAD, ESRI desktop or ArcGIS PRO
PAY RATE
The position is a seasonal, non-exempt/hourly position with a starting pay rate of at least $18.62 per hour. No additional benefits with the exception of Accrued Sick Leave - earn 1 hour for every 40 hours worked on a prorated basis and available for use after 100 calendar days of employment.
