    Bilingual Family Resource Specialist Classification: Full-time, Exempt Reports to: Project Supervisor Company: DePelchin Children's Center The Bilingual Family Resource Specialist will assist in the coordination and delivery of services for clients and/or families by providing program development, scheduling, marketing, enrolling, evaluating, and provision of services for clients and referral sources in the community. The Specialist will also provide non-clinical family assessments, crisis intervention; family and volunteer recruitment, screening, and training; and design and implementation of services with limited resources. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Fluent in Spanish. English required. Must be certified in required curriculums or be able to attain such certification within the first year of employment. Employment is contingent on acquisition of minimal certification/licensure. Preferred Qualifications: Some experience in the social services. Experience working with children and families in various settings. Some experience in case management, crisis intervention, and child welfare. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires high moderate level of independent work in implementation and service provision of program. Work Conditions: Environment: Office and community. Range of Schedule: M - F, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, Occasional nights or weekends. Travel: Occasional, Local. Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid Texas driver license. MFLC services shall enhance participants' ability to cope with the many challenges associated with the complex dynamics unique to the military service environment. The MFLC Ready Reserve (MRR) works on an On-Call basis providing MFLC Counseling services on temporary assignments at select military installations in Texas. If a full time MFLC role is desired, MRR will be considered for open positions when available. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Provide support for children of any age working in early childhood settings and schools. The CYB-MFLC would also serve to provide services for staff and parents. + Possesses in-depth knowledge on subjects relating to the conduct, activities, practices, and operations of the MFLC program. + Provides non-medical counseling, consulting, and outreach services to eligible participants. + Knowledge of preventative models that strengthen service members' and their families' readiness and resilience by reducing the stresses/stressors of military life cycle. + Ability to model evidence-based intervention approaches. + Ability to teach coping strategies, emotion management, and problem-solving skills to families and/or caregivers. + Ability to teach strategies supporting management of life challenges more effectively. + Facilitation of psychological and behavioral awareness. + Provide education knowledge to participants including: The meaning of specific symptoms and/or what is known about the causes, effects, implications of identified issues. + Provide services through multi-level intervention (e.g., classroom, family, school, community) while understanding the potential contextual and cultural factors impacting young children's behavior. + Assist educators with strategies for cultivating a deeper understanding of the factors that shape young children's social-emotional development. + Ability to perform accurate assessment of the client's presenting problem and to plan effective treatment for that problem + Conducts government approved presentations as requested. + Enters counselor activity reporting daily through issued equipment while assuring accurate reporting and maintaining confidentiality of participants. Supervisory Responsibilities + This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Required Qualifications + Be U.S. citizens and speak fluent English. + Possess a master's degree or higher from an accredited graduate program in a relevant behavioral health field of study to include, but not limited to social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling. + The candidate must hold a valid independent license in the mental health field from any US state or territory (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, LMHC, Psychologist). + Must be certified for child and youth care or have received additional training as an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant. + Must be able to pass a basic background check for employment, a Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance, commonly called a Public Trust clearance. + Be able to pass all background/suitability checks, which may include additional installation-specific requirements. + Knowledge of the difficulties of adjusting to general life stresses as well as those resulting from the requirements of military life, and experience providing short-term counseling for those issues + Knowledge of standard documentation requirements for clinical services + Knowledge of available military and community referral resources + Ability to work effectively with diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds + Proficiency in oral and written communication skills + Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software and skilled in the use of office software Other Skills and Abilities + This position requires access to U.S. Government facilities and systems. Essential Job Functions: Greet and assist visitors to the SIL program, ensuring a welcoming environment. Participate in the Administrator of Duty (AOD) rotation as part of team support for SIL program. Aid in filing and maintaining both hard copies and computerized records related to the SIL program. Provide computer data entry assistant for the SIL program, ensuring accurate record-keeping. Maintain calendars related to the Supervised Independent Living program to ensure timely scheduling of events and activities. Assist SIL program staff with cottage and Holzapfel apartment walk-throughs. Assist SIL residents with their educational needs, including college tours, application processes for schools/educational programs, the Educational Training Voucher (ETV) process, and weekly monitoring of educational progress. Help with conducting tours of the SIL cottages when needed to showcase the living environments to prospective residents or stakeholders. Collaborate with staff in planning and executing special events related to the program, such as Prom preparations, senior picture planning, Graduation Dinner, Camp Independence, and monthly skills groups. Schedule and attend various meetings and training sessions as necessary, and take and distribute meeting notes as required. Provide support in daily operations, including answering routine phone calls and directing inquiries to the appropriate parties. Help residents with updating resumes, job applications, mock interviews, and other career-related tasks. Assist with any other needs of the Supervised Independent Living young adults as they arise. Serve as a member of the Records Review Committee to assess and manage resident records. Act as a liaison between Boysville and medical providers when necessary, ensuring that residents receive the appropriate care and support. Maintain cleanliness in the office, including trash disposal, kitchen upkeep, and vacuuming. Stock office supplies as needed to ensure a well-equipped working environment. Complete other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Director of Independent Living. Qualifications H.S. Diploma or GED with 1 to 2 years' experience and/or education in administrative services. Must possess excellent communication, organization and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Experience or interest in working with young adults and supporting their independence. Must be computer literate in windows applications. General medical knowledge preferred. Must exhibit behavior that demonstrates cultural diversity and sensitivity (See Corporate Policy #2103). Physical/Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write and converse in English. Ability to communicate with staff, residents, families, vendors, support agencies and others. Ability to handle stress. Bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing/pulling, prolonged sitting/standing. Ability to respond to telephones and other auditory stimulation. Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
