This dynamic individual will be responsible for engineering and leading design efforts for airside and landside airport infrastructure and development projects. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Prepare construction plans, technical specifications, technical studies and reports. Prepare quantity take-offs and/or calculations. Direct CAD designers and less experienced staff in the preparation and production of construction plans. Provide quality reviews of own work and work by designers in accordance with Company's quality control program and processes. Assist in construction administration and inspection of projects, including the preparation of inspection reports, material quantity verification, and reviewing and responding to contractor material submittals, RFI's, and change order requests. Qualifications: Knowledge and application of FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction. Including but not limited to runways, taxiways, aircraft parking aprons, grading/drainage, and pavement markings. Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of civil and/or airport/aviation engineering principles. Demonstrate competence in the use and application of AutoCAD Civil 3D. Including but not limited to horizontal and vertical control/geometry, incorporation and interpretation of survey data, creating point files and surfaces, and creating plans and profiles. Ability to mentor and train other CAD Designers and Engineers-in-Training. Strong technical writing skills, and ability to convey engineering decisions and concepts to non-technical and technically based audiences. Ability to work within a variety of team environments, including varying team sizes and personnel. Prioritize and meet multiple deadlines. Education and Experience: Must have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field, from an accredited college. Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Arizona OR be able to obtain an Arizona PE license within 6 months of employment. Minimum 4-8 years of engineering experience. 3 years of aviation engineering experience preferred. Minimum 3 years of increasing experience and application of AutoCAD Civil 3D. SUMMARY: This role of Engineer-In-Training is responsible for technical engineering tasks including conceptual and final design, plan preparation, contract documents, specifications, data collection/analysis, and documentation and engineering calculations using prescribed methods. Under the direction of Practicing Engineers, this position will work with clients and sub-consultants to develop design criteria and perform a wide variety of skilled professional engineering work. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Perform engineering design using Autodesk Civil3D. Coordination of CAD files and design with internal and external team members. Prepare construction documents under the direction of a Project Engineer or Project Manager. Tabulate and address client review comments from deliverables. Utilize in-house methods of quality control to complete projects. Incorporate applicable technical knowledge for added value to projects. Statewide efforts are being led by the America 250 - Colorado 150 Commission, and communities across Colorado are planning celebrations. Project description: The Colorado 150 Tapestry project is a work of textile art to be commissioned by a private family foundation in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Colorado statehood. Working with a local artist, the tapestry intends to tell Colorado's collective story in ways that connect Coloradans with our shared history. This artwork will focus on what makes Colorado special and unique, including representations of the diversity of land, people and places within the state and will include recent history and contemporary historical Colorado figures. The piece may complement existing publicly displayed works of art celebrating Colorado's history, such as the Colorado Women's Gold tapestry that was developed for the 100th anniversary of Colorado statehood and displayed in the Colorado State Capitol. The piece may culminate in a permanent display in a public location. The project may include community participation events throughout its production, interpretation, narration and storytelling produced alongside the art to accompany the piece in both written and other forms for exhibition throughout the state. This ambitious initiative requires strong leadership to target successful delivery by December 2026. Budget: The total project budget is up to $250,000 inclusive of: project manager; artist contract and materials; community participation events; interpretation and installation.     Construction Project Engineering o Responsible to ensure timely resolution to client needs and issues o Responsible to understand project scopes of work as well as RDS and GC contractual obligations to each other o Responsible to timely procure specialty and lead-time materials o Responsible to timely procure, review, and submit engineering/shop drawings, product data, and sample submittal packages o Participate in project handoff meeting with Project Management and Estimating o Assist in leading the project kickoff meetings with Estimating, Project Management, and Field Supervision o Accountable for collaborating with field supervision to ensure all EWA's are timely submitted to the office. o Be familiar with the contracted plans and specifications to effectively work with the field team and client o Review, approve, sign, and receive change orders in accounting software o Responsible for timely preparing complete and accurate submittal packages, stocking reports (Piece counts), RFI's, purchase orders, EWA & COR pricing, project analysis & projection reporting, and billings o Log the timeliness and accuracy of required field paperwork (Daily logs, timecards, sub invoices, safety meetings) Safety & Quality o Maintain a culture of safety o Participate in the Safety Program o Support the field with execution of the QA/QC plan Finance/Risk Management o Assist with project analysis, projections, and billings o Assist the Project Manager in ensuring all lump sum COR's are thoroughly reviewed, priced and submitted timely, and GC approval is received prior to commencement of work o Accountable for ensuring all EWA tickets are processed into COR's and timely submitted to the client o Accountable to ensure all project daily logs are received timely and filed appropriately o Responsible for all project profitability o Understand all key contractual obligations, including scopes of work, our proposed clarifications, committed schedule, area durations, add alternates and deducts, etc. o Monitor risk areas to ensure that procedures are being followed o Accountable for purchase order accuracy, including project information, cost coding, quantities, descriptions, pricing, stocking instructions/delivery stock sheets, and receiving personnel contact information Requirements o TBD if recruiting or promoting Compensation o $61-75K o Performance Bonus o Health Insurance Contribution o 401K
