The impact you'll make:

Use of our Telematics systems to keep track of driver locations. Keep current locations saved for mapping, reporting, and routing features. Update fleet and driver information as needed.
Maintain on time frequency of our equipment maintenance intervals. Usage of our providers software is highly recommended. Perform random inspections of tractor/trailers to ensure cleanliness.
Communicate daily of how the routing progresses to leadership. Ask for assistance and support whenever required. All safety sensitive incidents must be reported to management and HR.
Who you are:
Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field of Fleet Management, Transportation Management, Logistics, or related field of study or equivalent experience, back ground.
Additional Experience Desired: Between 1-3 years of experience in dispatch or fleet management
Additional Experience Desired: Between 1-3 years of experience in mapping tools, communication systems
Computer Skills Desired: Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, Telematics, Outlook, and Reporting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Dispatch all service calls to ensure maximum scheduling efficiency without compromising client satisfaction.
Manage the dispatch board to keep field personnel on the move and generate revenue. Make every effort to compress call scheduling effectively and maximize productivity.
Notify clients ahead of time without fail if the technician is not going to arrive at their home within the scheduled time window and re-scheduling the time at the client's convenience.
Communicate with the Purchasing and Warehouse Coordinator to help arrange efficient delivery of parts to the Technicians. Every effort should be made to keep Technicians on the job.
Strictly adhere to the Dispatching for Profits Priority Service Schedule, including ensuring the “Right” technician is sent to the “Right” appointment.
Share the responsibility to ensure that all technicians arrive at their designated appointments on time.
Debrief Technicians after each call and insist that all employees collect payment immediately after each job is completed.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE STATUS: As a condition of employment, City of Largo employees will be required to work as directed during an undeclared and/or a declared emergency. All employees are subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the normal work location, and may include duties other than those specified in the official job description.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
* Previous public safety dispatching experience (police, fire, EMS) and some college coursework is preferred
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Pass a strict and comprehensive background investigation
* Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain required certifications including but not limited to; Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Full Access Certification and Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Level 2 - CJIS Security Awareness Certification.
* Must be able to successfully complete training course and pass the State of Florida Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification Examination within 12 months of hire.
* Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work Environment: 100% inside a climate-controlled building.
Physical Requirements: The essential functions of the job require sitting for eight (8) to twelve (12) hours per day. The job also requires frequent fine manipulations, reaching, and repetitive motion with occasional: bending/stooping, grasping, and lifting/carrying of objects weighing less than 15 pounds. On rare occasions the work requires: pulling/pushing and lifting/carrying objects weighing 15 to 44 pounds.
Sensory Requirements: Hearing: Enough to understand a low volume voice transmission over a static-laden radio line and multiple conversations at once. Speaking: Enough to answer phones, talk on radios, and communicate with co-workers. Seeing: Enough to see and read maps, and computer monitor screens.
Driving Requirements: The work requires driving on rare occasions and possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.

This critical role serves as the vital communications link between public requests for help and a timely response by emergency services. The candidate must be able to work independently in a high-stress environment while receiving and evaluating incoming emergency and administrative requests for emergency services. These services include but are not limited to fire and emergency medical services (EMS), triaging those requests for service, providing guidance and assistance to the public in life-safety situations, and coordinating appropriate responses to high risk, high-stress operations, with the objective of keeping all participants safe.
Salary Information
The starting salary for the Telecommunicator position is $21.29/hr. Once the employee successfully completes the full training program (average time period is 7-12 months) and is released from probation, hourly pay increases to $22.36/hr.
The normal schedule generates 8 hours of built-in overtime per pay period, and provides every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off.
Night shift schedules earn an additional 5% per hour.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; AND
