    Business Intelligence Systems & Projects optimizes enterprise performance to serve the strategic needs of the advancement community. The Business Intelligence Systems & Projects Analyst II plays a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives within the Duke University Alumni Engagement and Development (AED) community. This position is responsible for leading and supporting project management efforts, providing technical and process support, and contributing to process improvement and analytical initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and project management skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for driving innovation. Responsibilities Project Management * Provide project management support and build a collaborative partnership with colleagues in Alumni Engagement and Development, schools/units, Duke Health, etc. to identify processes and systems in need of improvement. * Participate and manage project tasks for routine work, ad-hoc tasks, and process improvement efforts. * Apply team's project management standards, technical skills, and functional knowledge to meet project requirements. * Drive successful project execution from intake to delivery. * Manage project intake and prioritization. * Gather and document project requirements. * Create and maintain project roadmaps, plans, and budgets. * Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams. * Implement change management processes. * Ensure successful project delivery. * Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders. * Utilizes project management and visual platforms like Asana, Jira, Mural, Figma, PowerPoint, etc. * Adopts Agile, Design Thinking, Lean, and other established frameworks to plan, execute, communicate, and document projects. * Participate in design and facilitation of design thinking workshops for process improvement initiatives. * Leverage advancement community and enterprise systems to manage projects effectively on time and within budget. * Regularly assist members of the Business Intelligence department to successfully complete priority projects. Process & Systems Support * Provide routine and advanced technical and process support for advancement community systems, such as CRM, reporting, project management, and business intelligence platforms. * Perform user management functions and functional/technical support using ticketing and triaging systems. * Support on-going and ad-hoc training needs both within and across teams. * Provide training for end users on advancement systems and processes as needed. * Manage and effectively resolve user requests in the departmental ticketing system in support of users functional and technical questions related to advancement systems and business intelligence platforms. * Identify needed team members and coordinate efforts for completing the request. * Research and deliver solutions to end users in the form of data or functional interpretation as requested by end users. * Develop and maintain a respectful and collaborative partnership with colleagues in Alumni Engagement and Development, schools/units, Duke Health, etc. to identify processes and systems in need of improvement. * Under guidance from senior members of the BI Systems and Projects team, assist in conducting business process analyses, implementing system upgrades and enhancements, and implementing new BI technologies and services across alumni engagement and development units. * Participate in the BI Systems & Projects team processes and support colleagues with team's efforts. * Create and maintain process documentation and workflows, adhering to our established methods. * Contribute to continuous process improvement in a collaborative team environment. * Share best practices across the organization. * Participate in BI Systems & Projects team processes and support colleagues with team efforts. * Support and further our positive and collaborative team culture that encourages respect, open communication, knowledge sharing, innovation, and excellence. * Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization. An example of this may be demonstrated by being experienced in process mapping and automation or familiar with platforms such as Visio, Asana, Kuali Webforms, Power Apps, etc. * Participate in design, product management, and improvement of user interface of our advancement systems and web platforms. * Perform analysis (using software platforms such as Excel, Tableau, Python, SQL, etc.) to transform data into useful reports or products. * Create prototyping of data models and analytical products. * Present data discoveries and narrate process improvement success stories utilizing software tools to visually and effectively present examples of improved processes. * Provide routine and advanced technical and process support for advancement community systems. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications * Strong technical skills and experience with office and data management platforms. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. * Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. * Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. * Strong interpersonal skills, team participation and ability to work collaboratively. * Experience with project management methodologies and platforms (e.g., Asana, JIRA). * Experience with web forms and survey tools (e.g. Kuali or Qualtrics) is a plus. * Knowledge of advancement community systems (e.g., Affinaquest, Blackbaud, Ellucian, UC Innovation, Salesforce, etc.) and processes is a plus. * Experience with data analytics platforms (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Python, SQL, etc.) is a plus. * Experience with process mapping and automation platforms such as Visio, Lucidchart, Kuali Webforms, or Power Apps is a plus. * Familiarity with frameworks such as Design Thinking, Agile, and Lean is a plus. The Business Process Consultant (BPC) serves as the primary analytical resource supporting all revenue cycle processes, systems and workflow. The BPC is a subject matter expert in Epic (Maestro Care), data analytics, payer reimbursement and demonstrates a broad spectrum of operational expertise across many areas of the Revenue Cycle. The BPC supports the Revenue Cycle departments and operational leaders within the Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) by identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and performance. The BPC has a system focus through monitoring of dashboards and key metrics to pro-actively identify, analyze, and trend issues. The BPC strategically supports operations by identifying opportunities to improve workflow and effectiveness through projects and innovative solutions to enhance automation, quality and efficiency through enhancement requests, report writing, analysis and business case development and data validation.
