Snapshot of Position:
Provide automation support and troubleshooting where needed; assist in the implementation of change controls for process improvements and bug fixes as needed
Location & Travel:
Primary Location: Greater Chicago Area (South Suburbs such as Bourbonnais, Manteno, etc.) with the possibility to support clients at other locations

Your Roles Responsibilities:
Building good relationships with customers
Designing, implementing, and supporting PLC, HMI, and SCADA software for control systems and equipment
Designing, implementing, and supporting electrical hardware systems
Understanding manufacturing processes and process instrumentation
Investigating and solving complex problems
Demonstrating solid rapport with clients, peers, and supervisors
Addressing on-call requests as needed
Being a self-starter that can work both independently and in team-based project environments
Remaining a minimum of 80% billable with leadership and sales assistance
What You Need for this Position:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field
2 - 4 years of experience in process control and automation
2 - 4 years of experience in programming/developing/configuring PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA software for control systems (experience with Rockwell, FactoryTalk View SE/ME; iFix, DeltaV, PlantPAx, PCS7, Siemens, or Wonderware is a plus)
Ability to support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
Ability to address on-call requests as needed

KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
* Electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or 4-8 years related experience.
* Strong understanding of control sequence programming for mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems.
* Proficiency with software control system platforms (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Ignition and similar).
* Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) (EPMS), SCADA systems, and PLC programming.
* Experience with system integration, including BACnet, Modbus, and other communication protocols.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, control schematics, and sequence of operations.
* Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for both hardware and software in critical facility environments.

The Production Operations Control Engineer designs, develops, and implements control systems for automated industrial machinery and processes.
