Essential Functions

Prepares exam and treatment rooms. Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, cleaning/sterilizing instruments as needed.
Assists physician with examinations, tests, procedures, and office-based surgery. Apply splints, casts, dressings and remove sutures with competency. Report and assist during emergencies.
Prepares and administers medications and immunizations as ordered by the physician, including p.o., vaginal and rectal suppositories, intradermal injection and intramuscular injection, after demonstrating competency and passing medication administration test.
Receives and returns clinically related telephone calls after communicating with physician or registered nurse regarding medical concerns of the patient.
Teaches patient and provide printed information, on physician request, about diagnosis, self-care within the scope of assigned duties, health promotion, disease prevention and community healthcare resources. Patient education must be documented in the medical record.
Documents data and cares in the patient medical record.
Completes medical insurance and other related forms for physician review. Communicates as needed with the patient, referral source and payor between visits. Completes patient registration, scheduling and billing tasks, pre-authorization and other general office/clerical duties as assigned. Schedules tests and treatments, as ordered by the physician.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Photograph specimens and maintain proper documentation and labeling for diagnostic, legal, and educational purposes.
Ensure accurate specimen identification and chain of custody.
Prepare specimens for histological processing and assist in tissue banking procedures when required.
Maintain compliance with laboratory safety procedures, CAP, CLIA, and other regulatory standards.
Collaborate closely with pathologists, histotechnologists, and other laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Qualifications:
Master s degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists Assistant program.

Clinic MA:
Get rooms ready for patients and prepare for allergy testing each morning
Calibrate PFT sensor daily
Escort patients to a treatment room and prepare them for the doctor's visit
Assist the doctor with skin testing and other procedures as ordered
Send prescriptions, complete asthma care plans and discharge summaries
Complete documentation in the EMR system
Prepare and administer any medications requested by the doctor
Pulmonary function testing, FeNO testing, and peak flow monitoring
Patient education regarding medications and environmental control
Prepare and administer nebulized medication and patient education (if needed)
Scan testing sheets
Schedule appointments for outpatient procedures
Administer allergy injections and complete all duties of the shot room

Communicate with injection room staff when emergency medications are used and need to be reordered
