General maintenance worker job at Earth Fare
Keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel. Complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotels standard operating procedures. Continually work towards and support the improvement of engineering service to guests, other departments, and fellow team members.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
* Acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests concerns.
* Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
* Check for new maintenance requests from the PMS and update remarks once the task is completed.
* Interpret readings from meters & gauges and other measuring units.
* Prioritize and organize work assignments. Work under pressure situations and exercise good judgements.
* Maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.
* Ensure security of guest room access and hotel property.
* Must complete all reports required by brand and Hospitality Company for Quality Assurance tracking.
* Perform maintenance activities in the guest room like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, electrical equipment including lamps and HVAC.
* Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
* Regularly perform preventive maintenance duties in lubrication of equipment, changing of filters, checking of fire extinguishers and other duties to prevent major costly breakdowns as assigned.
* To operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.
* To be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
* Monitor fire Alarm / Life Safety Systems, as necessary.
* Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdown.
* When no work is assigned, keeps productive throughout the shift by completing work orders, completing weekly walk-through items, and any other task that needs to be completed in the hotel.
* Keep all tools and supplies secure throughout shift to prevent loss from theft.
* Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
* Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.

What You Will Do
The focus of the Maintenance Team is to keep equipment in the BDC fully operational. The BDC Maintenance Utility Team Member is an entry-level position for the Maintenance organization that initially requires entry level mechanical and electrical aptitude, basic tool knowledge, as well as the desire and ability to work with and learn from others. The individual in this role will be trained in safety protocols and basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing concepts, while performing simple preventive maintenance tasks such as forklift battery and light bulb replacement. Through on-the-job experiences, this individual will gain a more detailed understanding of the FFC building structures, systems, and equipment, and will progress from simple, to basic, to more complex, preventive maintenance tasks. This individual also has the opportunity to work with Maintenance Mechanics to develop basic repair skills and assist with more complex maintenance activities.
Travel Requirements: This role does not require regular overnight travel.

Requires availability to work morning, afternoon, nights, or weekends depending upon assigned shift and overtime based on the needs of the facility.
Must work in a distribution/warehouse environment with the physical and environmental aspects typically associated with such environment.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Performs responsible, skilled, and technical work in the maintenance and repair of equipment in the County-owned Triangle Wastewater Treatment Plant, associated wastewater collection system, associated reuse water system, and potable well water system.
This position is required to work a rotating on-call schedule to provide continual coverage of the wastewater treatment plant and may be subject to work after normal operating hours to meet the needs of the utility. Work is performed under regular supervision of the Utility Supervisor.
The TWWTP is rated for an average daily flow of 12 million gallons per day and is specifically designed to meet future nutrient load requirements for the Jordan Lake nutrient management strategy. The TWWTP serves the southeast portion of Durham County inside and outside the Durham City limits and serves the Research Triangle Park within Durham County. The collection and treatment of domestic sewage and wastewater is vital to public health and clean water. It is among the most important factors responsible for the general level of good health enjoyed in the United States.

Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.

Tuition Reimbursement for current Automotive Technology students or recent graduates
Requirements:
Perform basic safety inspection while draining oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil.
Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Replace air filters, cabin air filters, and wiper blades, additional services as outlined by management
Inspect vehicle fluid levels, replace, or replenish as necessary.
Check tire pressure and add air if needed.
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Document all work performed on the repair order.
Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.
Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Keep shop area neat and clean.
Understand, kept abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
Report any safety issues immediately to management.
All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver's license
