Job Summary:
Develops and maintains the quality strategy and vision for the organization.
Develops, implements, and improves the Quality System such as ISO9001 and IATF16949 and all its functions throughout the organization.
Manage and direct all Cleveland Flow Path plants' quality assurance staff.
Quality responsibility to existing and new products and their related processes to meet Customer requirements.
All references to Customer within this document shall apply to internal & external Customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for Cleveland Flow Path casting, forging, machining, finishing and outsourced process operations for closure to all Customer issues, concerns, and requests.
Manages and implements the Quality Policy, develops, documents and maintains an effective Quality System in accordance with IATF16949 and customer requirements.
Establishes, manages and maintains goals, objectives and measurables for reviewing and monitoring the effectiveness of the Quality Management System. Coordinates department budget activities.
Drives organizational improvement through reporting of the performance of the Quality System and quality issues (i.e. nonconformance, Cpk, audit results, corrective & preventive action, customer rejections, etc.) to management for use as a basis for continuous improvement. Attend daily and weekly meetings accordingly.
Provides leadership and coordinate strategic business initiatives required to drive process improvement at Cleveland Flow Path in the achievement of a quality excellence environment.
Applies knowledge in quality systems to drive disciplined systems and robust processes, and focused standardization of best practices; in conjunction with managing to a cohesive set of key performance metrics that provide objective insights into the health and effectiveness of our business operating system.
Manages risk mitigation and containment utilizing industry standards, while collaborating with the corporate legal, commercial, manufacturing and support teams to quickly resolve open customer and manufacturing issues typically with specific and broad legal implications for Cleveland Flow Path.
Utilizes Lean Manufacturing techniques to elevate the Quality culture of the plants.
Manages and supports APQP and launches of new wheel programs including prototype, FAI, MFS, and all PPAP elements as required.
Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO9001, IATF16949 and the ability to work with supply base to continuously improve their systems resulting in improved product/service quality and reduced cost. Provide support to the supplier management process as needed.
Provide training and development programs to support product and process quality, productivity, continuous improvement and safety performance.
Provide quality support for the evaluating, testing, analyzing, dispositioning, and improvements from warranty returns as applicable to Cleveland Flow Path processes (i.e., casting, forging, machining, finishing, coating and outsourced processes).
Leads employee engagement teams with focus on Customer Satisfaction, First Pass Yield, Scrap and Rework reduction
Leads and coaches Quality department team to superior performance and actively engages outside sources to improve incoming quality performance.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (BS) from an accredited university
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Quality management or supervisory role located in a manufacturing environment.
Extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO9001 or IATF16949 and production systems.

* Support materials issues, metallographic preparation and evaluation, SEM/EDS, materials failure investigation and analysis, fatigue, stress, fracture mechanism, fractorgraphy corrosion analysis, knowledge with ability to provide support to other engineering disciplines as well as management and customers.
* Thorough understanding of all metallurgical aspects of Iron-base alloys, Stainless steels, Ni, Co, Ti Al and composite materials.
* Knowledge and acumen within raw material processing of metallics, ceramics and composites, additive manufacturing of materials including stainless steels Aluminum, Ni-base superalloys and non-metallics.
* Interface with customers offering guidance and manufacturability on materials and process as it relates to customer systems or interface condition and environments.
* Support production operation with improving process yields and reducing scrap through lab and 6-sigma driven investigations.

**This role in summary**
Whirlipool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a **Senior Machine Shop Process Engineer** opening to join our KitchenAid organization. This role is onsite at our Greenville, Ohio location.
You will serve as a project leader and technical resource in the development and application of CNC (computerized numerical control) equipment, Automation, Conveyors, Polishers required to fabricate our internal parts across a variety of backshop processes. You will be responsible for cost and quality improvements and supporting daily operations to achieve division goals.
**Your responsibilities will include**
+ Identify, analyze and solve manufacturing process issues and equipment related problems to continuously improve Business KPIs results for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
+ Drive machine shop process improvements through the use of lean manufacturing concepts and tools.
+ Work and lead the improvements in the equipment to achieve our OEE ( Overall Equipment Effectiveness) Targets required to achieve our volume goals
+ Provide technical support to technicians and work teams and serve as technical resource for the department.
+ Support the day to day operations
+ Scope, order and assure proper implementation of new processes & equipment;
+ Determine root cause of problems and implement corrective & preventive actions utilizing methods from lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
+ Direct cross functional process improvement projects with the assistance of team members from all aspects of the division.
+ Analyze, evaluate and document standards according to quality system requirements such as Standard operating procedures, Control Plans, and FMEAs
+ Provide a critical link between the department and other process partners such as product design, assembly, paint, maintenance, safety, quality, etc.
+ Initiate problem solving and conduct root cause analysis working with the team.
+ Implement cost saving projects and special assignments as required
**Minimum requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ 2+ years of Manufacturing experience in an Engineering role
**Preferred skills and experiences**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
+ Backshop experience (CNC, Automation, Polishers, Robots etc)
+ Strong knowledge of lean principles and the ability to apply them in order to establish and/or improve processes
+ Working knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
+ Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the specific ability to act as a team leader and interact at all layers within the organization
+ Strong mechanical knowledge
+ Excellent planning, project management and leadership skills
+ Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills
+ Experience in a manufacturing related environment with a good understanding of plant operations
+ Solid decision-making and judgment skills
+ Controls and robotics experience
+ Proven problem solving skills - Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies RSRWH
