Key Responsibilities * Proficient in the design of low and medium voltage power distribution systems including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, power plans, lighting plans, control schematics, conduit block diagrams, and installation details * Proficient in completing electrical engineering calculations, including circuit load summaries, circuit breaker sizing, conduit and wire sizing, voltage drop, and fault current * Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of AutoCAD software * Thorough understanding of the NFPA 70 National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E * Strong ability to work independently and efficiently on small to medium electrical and control system design projects, and in a team environment with other engineers and designers * Ability to read and understand P&IDs and control descriptions a plus * Experience in construction shop drawing review, request for information (RFI), field inspection, start-up and commissioning * Experience leading, reviewing and interpreting power system studies, arc flash studies * Experience modeling electrical power distribution systems with SKM software a plus * Thorough knowledge of NFPA 101 and NFPA 820 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Minimum of three (3) years electrical and industrial controls engineering experience in Water/Wastewater industry * Minimum of three (3) years of experience producing Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) Contract Drawing packages in AutoCAD Qualifications * Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from accredited US college required. * A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is strongly preferred. * Must be able to work on projects with very little supervision or guidance. * 5-10 years of overall experience. Overview The Electrical Engineer, PE I is responsible for overseeing the creation of technical design solutions and/or studies. The purpose of a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer is to provide technical authority and direction as the Engineer of Record (EOR) for the development of electrical engineering designs, studies and solutions and part of an integrated project team. Responsibilities Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems. Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects. Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects. Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.
