About the Logistics & Storage (L&S) Organization:The Logistics & Storage organization is the link between the Refining and Marketing components of Marathon. L&S transports crude oil and refined products to and from the refineries and onto storage terminals for distribution to retail marketing facilities, via pipelines and marine transportation operations.
Logistics & Storage is comprised of four primary components:
Logistics & Storage Engineering (L&SE) - L&SE provides engineering design and project management services to Terminals, MPL, and Marine.
Terminals - Terminals play a prominent role in enhancing life's possibilities by blending, distributing, and delivering quality products in a safe, reliable, and competitive manner.
Marathon Pipe Line Company (MPL) - MPL operates pipeline systems that move crude oil from production fields, other pipeline companies, and offshore platforms to MPC refineries, other refineries, and other pipeline systems. MPL also operates pipeline systems that move refined products from refineries to product terminals.
Marine - Maintains and operates a large private inland petroleum products barge fleet, which is used to ship crude oil, intermediates, and refined products.
Responsibilities:The purpose of the Logistics and Storage intern/co-op program is to identify and develop future technical and leadership talent for the benefit of MPC, the engineering intern/co-op, and the engineering profession.
The intern/co-op program may consist of any number of work sessions. Multiple sessions give interns/co-ops the ability to rotate between the different L&S components in order to gain exposure to the various business segments and to offer a variety of assignments with increasing responsibility. Intern/Co-ops will gain experience in the 5 phases of the Marathon Project Management Process (MPMP) including Conceptual, Feasibility, Definition, Implementation, and Start-up/Close-out.

Qualifications:

Our building electrical team is involved with designing the electrical systems, calculating power loads, determining, and selecting equipment sizes, and vetting and selecting suitable vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors. The professional will have technical responsibility for scoping, performing, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments. His/her specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
Designing electrical systems for building power, i.e. normal, emergency, and standby power distribution systems for 208v, 480v, and medium voltage for industrial facilities.
Execute duties on larger projects independently
Client contact and lead engineer
Documenting all necessary calculations for the design such as short circuit, selective coordination, arc flash, generator sizing, steady state and transient voltage drops, load calculations, conductor sizing, raceway fills, etc.
Maintains project document organization
Manage time and meet commitments
Understands Ohms Law, AC/DC, Electric and magnetic fields

Required Education Skills and Experience
Bachelor of Science in ElectricalEngineering or related 4-year degree
8+ years of work experience in electrical systems for building power.
8+ years of work experience in designing lighting, fire alarm systems, and low voltage systems for building spaces, including lighting calculations, and coordinating fixture placement with trades.
8+ years of work experience in electrical bid documents and procuring electrical materials and equipment.
8+ years of work experience in AutoCAD, Revit or other related design programs.
Relevant experience in a manufacturing or construction setting preferred.
FE or PE tracked desirable.
Travel to customer project sites for fieldwork, review, audit, and meetings, estimated 25%.

Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our team Preconstruction Team. The Electrical Designer needs to be sharp, driven, and constructability minded.
The Electrical Designer will be at the center of planning, design, and prefabrication coordination. This position bridges the gap between design and construction using a combination of tools including software documentation, knowledge of field installation, and working with our project management and VDC teams.
Major Duties:
Ability to adhere to detailing standards.
Build, and edit preconstruction electrical drawings using Bluebeam and Excel
Generate accurate takeoffs, product counts, and support estimating efforts.
Put together schedules, worksheets, and documentation correctly.
Serve as a go between with the field, engineering, management, and technical teams.
Track progress, timelines, and team deliverables to ensure quality and consistency.
Prepare, review, manage all aspects of the preconstruction drawings.
Facilitate meetings and manage details.
Ability to work independently but also work well within a team setting.
Creative and out of the box thinking with attention to detail.
Ability to think practical based, relying on field experiences.
Experience on real world projects, understanding installation logic.
Time management skills.
Can read and understand construction drawings and blueprints.

Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years' experience in electrical installation, preferably as a superintendent or electrical projects.
Interest in learning the construction detailing aspect of electrical installation.
Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word experience.
Knowledge of Autodesk, ACAD, Revit, Navis, or drafting/design.
Experience with electrical construction estimating or project management is a plus.
Experience in electrical detailing/design including electrical code, contract compliance, submittal review, and specification interpretation a plus.

Prepares complete design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex industrial projects that meet design intents and customer expectations. Designs are well coordinated with other departments.

The Staff Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer mentors junior staff, assists in the training and development of others, and identifies training needs for the department chief.

Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program with a minimum of 10 years of related work experience, or a bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program with 12 years of relevant experience.
Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel may be up to 10%
Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.
Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.

**Overview**
The Electrical Designer III performs technical activities on assigned projects under supervision of a licensed professional engineer, including participation in technical studies, investigations and designs on assigned projects. They will assist the project team in the production of projects that are on-time, within budget and of the utmost quality. The Senior Electrical Designer-s responsibilities include the complete Electrical Design and management of their assigned project, and/or other project tasks.
**Responsibilities**
+ Designs and prepares drawings for electrical systems for building projects including conducting code review, lighting calculations, lighting and receptacle layout, one-line diagrams, branch circuit, feeder, and service calculations, fault current calculations, etc., under the supervision of a licensed professional electricalengineer.
+ Writes and edits electrical system specifications for building projects, under the supervision of a licensed professional electricalengineer.
+ Attends meetings with owners, clients, and/or architects as needed.
+ Prepares and distributes meeting notes.
+ Conducts site surveys to determine existing facility conditions and proposed conditions.
+ Conducts project job site visits during construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes.
+ Prepares punch lists and project observations reports to note findings.
+ Prepares Proposal Requests (PR-s) and Supplemental Instructions (SI-s), and Responds to Requests for Information (RFI-s).
+ Reviews project submittal documents and approves or rejects based upon compliance with project drawings and specifications.
+ Assists the design team in the coordination with other discipline including architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, civil, etc.
+ Mentors and assists in directing work of BIM/CAD Technicians and Electrical Designers in order to complete projects, and ensure quality control and professional development.

+ Manages small electrical design projects.
+ Assists the project manager in establishing and preparing budgets, cost estimates, project schedules, and project contracts.
+ Assists project manager with project billing.

**Qualifications**
+ 2-year Technical Degree or Associates Degree in Electrical-Related Field, or an Electrical Program / Course / Classes at a Community College, plus:
+ 5 - 10 years of experience as an electrical designer for an engineering or architectural/engineering design firm, OR
+ 5 - 10 years of experience with a Master or Journeyman Electrician License, OR
+ 7 - 10 years of experience as an electrician working for an Electrical Contractor.
+ Must have experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Revit, and AutoCAD.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
