Responsibilities
Perform computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists.
Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.

About this Job:
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician II prepares and fills routine orders for prescribed medications; restocks automated dispensing machines; repackages medications; compounds both sterile and non-sterile medications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Abides by recommendations from regulatory and advisory groups regarding safe medication principles including look alike sound alike and high alert drugs. Responds appropriately to medication occurrences. Understands and takes appropriate action when a medication occurrence is identified. Complies with internal reporting requirements for medication occurrences using the Patient Safety Event system. Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts.
Assists pharmacists in obtaining patient specific information as appropriate for safe medication management. Under direct supervision participates in the exchange of information with appropriate healthcare professionals and staff.
Ensures that medications are properly and safely stored throughout the hospital. Stores medications under conditions necessary to ensure stability. Secures medications in accordance with the hospital's policy law and regulation. Refills and replaces medications in automated medication dispensing machines throughout the hospital. Troubleshoots and services automated medication dispensing machines as needed. Appropriately labels all medications and chemicals used to prepare medications with contents expiration dates and appropriated warnings. Routinely inspects all medication storage areas according to hospital's policy. Adheres to all laws regulations and hospital policies regarding the management and handling of recalled discontinued unused expired or returned medications. Inspects returned medications for integrity before returning to pharmacy stock. Segregates outdated or recalled medications from pharmacy stock.
Participates in the evaluation of the hospital's medication management system for risk points and identifies areas to improve safety.
Safely and accurately prepares all medications in the most ready to administer form (including hazardous medications and sterile products) using proper techniques calculations and appropriate precautions. Labels and packages medications according to hospital policy applicable laws and regulations and standards of practice to ensure safe accurate administration (i.e. labels medications with the drug name strength quantity beyond use date patient name patient location and directions for use). Maintains documentation for all repackaged medications as required by departmental policy.
Selection and Procurement: Ensures that medications are selected and procured based on departmental criteria. Demonstrates a working knowledge of the formulary list and the formulary process. Adheres to policies and procedures regarding the procurement of non-formulary medications. Adheres to policies and procedures that address medication shortages outages emergency and disaster situations. If applicable adheres to policies and procedures regarding the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
Stores controlled substances in such a manner to prevent diversion in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations. Accounts for all unused expired or returned medications according to law. Utilizes automation where applicable.
Transports medication to patient care units placing in the designated delivery locations within established departmental standards for turnaround times.

About this Job:
Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in all areas of pharmacy operations, including prescription preparation, sales transactions, customer service, purchasing, and inventory maintenance. This role plays an essential part in ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate medication delivery in alignment with MedStar Pharmacy's mission and commitment to world-class patient care.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Organizes prescription orders on the counter in order of priority; retrieves labels from the printer; arranges paperwork labels monographs and bags; uses appropriate stamps and notes; and retrieves stock from the shelf.
Performs phone and face-to-face customer service functions such as: taking in refill requests new prescriptions calls doctors for refill authorizations and pre-authorizations. Troubleshoots patients' questions and concerns.
Prepares prescriptions for dispensing: counts and verifies medication labels vials appropriately and prioritizes waiters.
Processes cash check credit card and payroll deduction transactions; secures appropriate signatures; ensures compliance with HIPAA requirements; prepares delivery tickets; reconciles delivery transactions; performs end of day register procedures; runs daily cash report and completes deposits as assigned.
Processes refills and performs data entry of new prescriptions including demographics insurance plans and prescription information under the supervision of a pharmacist and according to policy; brings to the attention of a pharmacist any claims requiring overrides or interventions; troubleshoots insurance claim rejects; and follows up on problem prescriptions.
Receives checks and puts away the daily order; returns medication to the shelf after filling; follows established inventory management procedures; participates in physical inventory process at intervals determined by management.
Greets customers immediately either in person or within three rings via telephone; performs intake of refill requests and new prescriptions gathers patient demographics and insurance information; clearly marks and prioritizes waiting customers. Monitors the waiting room by making sure they know who is waiting and whom they are waiting for.

Plan of care focused on discharging patients safely with protocolized care pathways within 24 hours
Increased nurse autonomy in facilitating care plan with support of Charge Nurse and Throughput Nurse
Designated provider team (MDs/ APPs) available with Care Management support
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the RN provides age-appropriate care. Position Summary:
As a senior member of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, this position produces clinical diagnostic radiographic images. Operates diagnostic imaging equipment, prepares room, equipment, supplies and medications. Provides leadership to Rad Tech II technologists or other staff as is needed. Provides patient care services using general and specialized imaging modalities under the direction of a physician but not requiring constant technical supervision. Provides diagnostic imaging services to patients of all ages. Applies ionizing radiation in the performance of a variety of technical procedures for radiological diagnosis. Responsible for patient care safety. Assists physicians in the performance of interventional procedures and the administration of contrast media. Assumes responsibility for designated procedures and equipment. Participates in orientation of Radiology Department staff. We started out as a small operation in California. In May 1969, we acquired four hospitals, some additional care facilities and real estate for the future development of hospitals. Located on a hillside overlooking the valley, we are a 123-bed, acute-care hospital, primary stroke center, and a cardiac heart surgery hospital. Position Summary:
As a senior member of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, this position produces clinical diagnostic radiographic images. Operates diagnostic imaging equipment, prepares room, equipment, supplies and medications. Provides leadership to Rad Tech II technologists or other staff as is needed. Provides patient care services using general and specialized imaging modalities under the direction of a physician but not requiring constant technical supervision. Provides diagnostic imaging services to patients of all ages. Applies ionizing radiation in the performance of a variety of technical procedures for radiological diagnosis. Responsible for patient care safety. Assists physicians in the performance of interventional procedures and the administration of contrast media. Assumes responsibility for designated procedures and equipment. Participates in orientation of Radiology Department staff. Works cooperatively with members of the health care team to maintain standards for professional Diagnostic Imaging Technologist practice in the clinical setting.

Current Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license issued by the California Department of Public Health

Current Fluoroscopy Permit issued by the California Department of Public Health (or within 6 months of hire/ transfer)
