The Emergency Services Technician (EMT) - will perform certain functions in the Emergency Department within their scope of practice and hospital policy for patients of all age groups (infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric). The EMT will document all procedures, observations and/or patient care performed in the Emergency Department in the patient record. In addition, the EMT will maintain communication with other providers and assist the patient care team in providing service to the customer.
HOURS: Full-time or .9 FTE, 72 hours every pay period. Day/Night rotation.
Experience/Qualifications
* Knowledge of emergent patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Previous applicable experience beneficial.
* Possesses an active Wisconsin EMT license.
* Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).

Job Description
As an emergency room nurse (RN ER), you will be the first line of defense for patients who require any type of urgent medical care. You will treat patients who are suffering from trauma, injury or severe medical conditions. Working quickly to assess the condition of the patient, you will provide necessary care, monitor health conditions, administer medicine, and utilize medical equipment. Once the patient is stabilized and their medical problem is treated, you will then determine whether the patient should be discharged or make arrangements for a longer hospital stay.
