This is a field based position that offers a company car, gas card, cell phone and laptop, and all vehicle maintenance will be covered by QuidelOrtho.This field based position covers customers throughout Maryland, Delaware, and southern Pennsylvania.
The Responsibilities
We are seeking a qualified individual who has experience installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying electromechanical equipment, preferably in the field. Troubleshoot technical problems and systems issues.
Determine technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.
Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
This position will also require the individual to assess Customer needs and recommends solutions in accordance with product specifications and Customer Specifications.
Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives as needed. Act as local on-site representative to customer's organization. Manage all territory responsibilities including Preventive Maintenance & upgrades including software & hardware. This position requires the individual to provide service support in the hospital/clinic laboratory environment.
Responsible for individual parts management, online training, and administrative expense reporting.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Required:
Education: Minimum of an Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical/MechanicalEngineering, or equivalent 4 years of military or field service experience required.
Experience: Minimum 4 years experience installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying electromechanical equipment, preferably in the field, required.
A team player that is self-motivated & interacts appropriately with peers, sales counterparts, and customers is required.
The ability to organize and express ideas clearly, verbal and written, in individual or group situations.
Possess appropriate technical knowledge and have the ability to utilize that knowledge to effectively perform required job functions with an effective level of competence demonstrating a high degree of knowledge in electro-mechanical, chemistry, computer and/or other related disciplines.
Ability to effectively manage assigned workload within allotted time constraints.
Must have the ability to lift 75 lbs.
A valid driver's license is always required.
Extended hours may be required
Travel: Ability to travel overnight 50-75% to Rochester, NY, in the first few months of training. Post-training must be able to travel up to 75% around territory, with occasional overnight travel (1-2 nights per week).

The Work Environment
Typical work hours with overtime required in a outside field engineer environment. Must have the discipline, organization skills and self-motivation to work autonomously in a home office environment. Must maintain a valid driver's license and must own and maintain an automobile suitable for travel to customer sites, airport, etc. Travel includes airplane, train, automobile, and overnights. On a typical workday, 80% of time meeting with people, 20% of the time on computer, doing paperwork, or on phone.
The Physical Demands
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach and sit. Occasionally required to reach, kneel, squat, or balance. Must be physically able to travel up to 75%.Must maintain a valid driver's license and must own and maintain an automobile suitable for travel to customer sites, airport, etc. Travel includes airplane, train, automobile, and overnights. Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays. Our Philadelphia, PA office has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Field Engineer to join our team! Detailed Description
This role will support a wide range of tasks during the overall life cycle of projects; Primary focus at the offset will be on delivering field engineering and inspection services for an infrastructure construction project solution to a local client. The successful candidate will work closely with the project lead, and associated project management and technical staff. Primary responsibilities include:
* Provide full time construction inspection and oversight for local infrastructure construction project
* Facilitate an effective, engaged and high-performing partnership with all project stakeholders
* Collaborate with a local project delivery ream, including Construction Inspection Lead, Project Manager and Technical Leads
* Review design and bidding documents for completeness, constructability and biddability.
* Be proactive in risk identification, management, mitigation, and solving project problems.
* Coordinate to resolve issues in the field with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, designers and regulatory agencies, and the effected public.
* Support compliance for all construction management team members with company's and client's health and safety training requirements.
* Utilize the Client's Construction Management Information System (CMIS).
* Prepare effective and accurate internal and external reports pertaining to job status, written documents, and reports.
* Generate project correspondence, including responses to Contractor correspondence, in a timely manner to avoid delay, to convey Owner's position, and to protect the Owner's interests.
* Oversee all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations and the use of proper construction techniques.
* Review construction work progress daily. Provide daily site inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, standards, codes, and permits
* Prepare and review daily reports documenting weather, equipment, manpower, and construction activities, and daily progress photos, as well as monthly progress reports for project stakeholders
* Lead and/or assist with commissioning, testing, and start-up of process systems/equipment or facilities
* Prepare effective and accurate record documents and all project, permit, and contract close-out documentation.
Desired Skills and Experience
* BS in engineering or construction management, environmental/civil engineering or related discipline required
* EIT or CMIT required, ability to obtain PE in state of PA within 2 years preferred
* Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the construction administration and inspection of municipal infrastructure water and wastewater facilities or related industry
* Proven field experience in coordination of the primary responsibilities essential to the position as stated above.
* Proven track record of successfully supporting construction inspection or management of infrastructure construction projects
* Valid driver's license and good driving record.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in the implementation of the daily execution of key functions while coordinating with engineering, field management and building trade staff.
* Ability to walk around a construction site of varying size and topography to perform inspections and ability to stand for several hours observing and documenting critical construction activities
* Ability to perform field work in adverse conditions (temperatures, precipitation, wind) as needed.
* Ability to travel to work sites regionally up to 100% of the time.
* Ability to wear required safety equipment at sites including hard hats, steel toed boots (or other approved to protection, etc.
* Ability to climb stairs (2-3 flights) or ladders (up to 24 foot typically) to access structure for visual inspection and ability to lift objects on job sites less than 30 pounds
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending on skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

What You'll Be Doing:
Put your education into action in the field to support and participate in assigned project work.
Support the plant operations in achieving production goals while partnering with experienced engineers, managers, and production employees in different departments.
Complete technical projects to gain an understanding of the operations of a quarry or aggregate site.
Learn the mission of the production, maintenance, and quality departments and different job and functions.

This part-time position will report to the Vineland, New Jersey facility.
Essential Job Functions
* Specifying parts, creating schematics and generating the BOMs, wiring diagram and panel layout documents for standard designs.
* Updating existing equipment specifications.
* Reviewing engineering drawings.
* Assisting with/conducting time studies for product improvements.
* Testing Chemical Feed products on the shop floor.
* Understanding of Chemical Feed drafting practices and procedures, plus the ability to perform and apply a variety of mathematical calculations.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
* Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
* Core course work complete in: Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university
