Key job responsibilities
- Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability
- Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
- Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA
- Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
- Technical writing to support change management program
- Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion
- On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation
- Work schedule changes depending on specific site needs. Shifts can be up to 12-hours and may rotate on a predefined schedule. Some locations have on-call rotations.

A day in the life
This role acts as Amazon's front line when it comes to hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshooting, reporting to a site's Data Center Facility Manager (FM). They will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facility equipment including stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, 3 phase electrical systems such as switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, and wet cell batteries and associated systems. Mechanical equipment includes CRAHU units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, water systems, air handlers and associated systems, pumps, and motors. Additional support equipment is included in the scope of the role which includes fire/life safety equipment, building automation systems, and general facilities equipment.

Basic Qualifications

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Environmental Engineering Trainee, you will participate in a one-year training program to learn the job duties of an Environmental Engineering Specialist. You will acquire the skills necessary to review permit applications for municipal, residual, and hazardous waste landfills, processing facilities, and transfer stations to ensure that the proposed facilities are designed and operated in compliance with the provisions set forth in the Waste Management rules and regulations. Primary duties will involve conducting field surveys and investigations to ensure that waste management facilities have been constructed and are operating in compliance with permit conditions and quality assurance requirements. You will also learn how to review closure plans for solid waste facilities to assure that closures are done in an environmentally acceptable manner and in compliance with all pertinent rules and regulations. Additional assignments will entail learning how to prepare technical engineering reports, conduct data entry, develop EPA's Hazardous Waste Management draft permits, and how to draft deficiency letters outlining regulatory citations.

A day in the life

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Manufacturing Engineering team supports daily manufacturing operations in the Clinton, PA (Pittsburgh, PA) facility. The focus of this intern project is to provide support to optimize manufacturing processes and material flow within the manufacturing spaces.
Job Responsibilities:
Support the Manufacturing Engineering team with process improvement activities; updating and documenting procedures and performing verification steps.
Support the verification of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) software platform
Collect data on manufacturing processes to support developing a process baseline and also the verification of data collection processes
Comply with all ISO 14001 and 13485 requirements.
Comply with internal environmental management system requirements, as applicable.
Qualifications:
Current standing as a Rising Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Engineering or related field Undergraduate or Graduate program, required.
Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills
Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
Highly motivated, self-starter with demonstrated experience working with teams
PROJECT DELIVERABLES:
