You will work directly on the shop floor, collaborating with team members, fabrications teams, and finishers to identify trends in defects and implement real-time solutions to reduce waste. Here are the details: Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for every station, from the initial rip-saw to final finishing. Inspect incoming raw materials (hardwood, MDF, veneers, and hardware) for grade compliance and defects before they enter the inventory. When a "remake" is required, lead the investigation into why it happened-was it a tool failure, a drawing error, or a training gap? Conduct "Quality Toolbox Talks" to train team members on how to self-inspect their work. Confirm that hinge pockets, lock preps, and concealed closers are machined accurately to the hardware templates provided. Ensure millwork finishes (paint, stain, raw materials) meet the Drexel finishing standards set by the Team in Kewaskum Manufacturing. We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to support daily manufacturing operations by inspecting product quality, documenting results, and ensuring customer requirements are met. This role is ideal for someone with manufacturing QC experience who enjoys problem‑solving, collaborating with production teams, and helping prevent defects before products ship. Responsibilities: Perform and document 2-3 quality inspections on all production lines per shift to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Conduct and communicate quality training sessions and alerts during shift meetings as required. Perform first-piece inspections and provide sign-off for all new parts and production start-ups. Maintain and file retain samples in accordance with quality and customer requirements. Review and approve QC Hold and BR-1 staging areas prior to finished goods shipment. Complete Nonconforming Material Reports (NCRs) for all rejected materials and coordinate follow-up meetings with affected operators and supervisor. Update and maintain QC boards, quality communications, and posted quality alerts. Create all Certificates of Conformance (COCs) in accordance with customer requirements. Prepare and complete customer-specific certification packets prior to finished goods shipment. Perform material verification by reviewing shop papers, work orders, and production documentation. About the Role The Quality Technician is responsible for quality inspection for all products to ensure they conform to all applicable company and quality standards. This position will test products after, in process, and in final stages to ensure quality levels are met. What You'll Do · Ensures all test equipment is properly maintained and calibrated · Performs routine & job specific load performance tests to ensure compliance with published specs. · Performs incoming inspections on products received from vendor. · Has a working knowledge of all equipment and machinery within the facility. · Performs daily in-process quality audits on products on production floor. · Performs testing needed for qualifications of new or revised products. · Maintains updated certified testing reports on standard products. · Assists with continuous improvement of product and manufacturing processes to improve quality, reduce costs, and ensure product quality objectives are met. · As assigned by supervisor, visits job sites to identify problems and recommends solutions. · Maintains good housekeeping and follow established safety procedures. · Performs other duties as assigned or directed by Team Leader/Supervisor. · Follows all policies, procedures, and work instructions including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual. · Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; reports all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel. Additional Expectations Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy. Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands. Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System. Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service. What You'll Bring High school diploma or GED; or equivalent experience. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop or crouch for at least an 8-hour shift. Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products. Ability to use various tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, dial indicators, feeler gauges, etc. and verify all test equipment is in calibration and maintained in good working order. Strong shop-floor orientation. Knowledge of aluminum cutting and milling operation is a plus. Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment with accuracy and integrity.
