Job Title: Instrumentation & Controls Field Technician Reports To: EI&C Engineering Lead The Instrumentation & Controls Field Technician reports to the EI&C Engineering Lead. Job Overview The Instrumentation & Controls Field Technician supports an installed base of 24/7 power and gas production facility control systems. The sites operated by ESI and others are located nationwide and will require frequent site visits to perform maintenance and improvements as needed. We also support local water and irrigation systems in central Oregon as needed. They work closely with operations and engineering to maintain and improve installed control systems as well as assist in the installation and commissioning of new systems. The Instrumentation & Controls Field Technician is responsible for maintaining sound control system, networking, software and security methods to keep the plants functioning for optimal performance and safety. The Instrumentation & Controls Field Technician will be required, from time to time, to assist operators in equipment maintenance and rebuilds at remote sites. An ability to work independently, self-motivate, and communicate effectively with team members is of the utmost important to this role. Responsibilities and Duties Employ analytical, conceptual, and creative thinking skills to troubleshoot and improve control system performance and safety. Install and assist in the commissioning of remote SCADA and PLC equipment. Ability and willingness to travel (Estimated 75%). Work with the operations team on issue troubleshooting and resolution. Fabricate and wire UL508A and UL698A control panels as needed. Identify and evaluate control system related software and hardware used and supported by the organization. Assist in maintaining local and remote, control systems. Support local customers. On-Call for troubleshooting. Serve as a help desk to prioritize and troubleshoot control system issues company wide. Assist operations to implement and maintain a schedule for planned hardware changes. Coordinate efforts with other personnel for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Continual improvement of your skills through training. Interact with other departments throughout the company. Assist in control system hardware identification, setup and installation. Seek ways to improve and promote quality, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness in all work. Reliable personal transportation. Competencies Required Valid driver's license for state of residence. Mechanical aptitude. Proficiency in air operated and electric operated valve commissioning and calibration. Proficient in PLC programming. (Allen Bradley, GE, Automation Direct, etc.) Mature troubleshooting practices and methods. Proficient in instrumentation installation, calibration and operation. Read and understand electrical and control systems drawings. Technologically savvy and proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to deal with complex problems and present recommendations and findings in a clear, concise format; ability to effectively interact at all levels within and outside of ESI. The Mechanical Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical damage of vehicles while ensuring safety and quality to ensure timely delivery of repaired vehicles. Additional responsibilities include performing light-heavy maintenance and service work. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES * Analyze and evaluate damaged vehicles to determine repair or service needs and replacement of parts. * Accurately estimate costs for repairs, maintenance and service required. * Perform advanced, basic and minor repairs as required - brake and hydraulic, exhaust, engine and transmission, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension and alignment, restraints and airbags, air conditioning and computer systems. * Perform service and repairs following manufacturers' manuals. * Document all repair/service information in CARSTAR's management system. * Inspects and tests all mechanical repairs to meet manufacturers' specifications. Road tests vehicles when required. * Communicate with production team to keep all vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery. * Ensure work area is kept clean, maintain all tools/equipment, follow safety/OSHA guidelines and handle and dispose of hazardous waste properly. * Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive repair technology. * Attend daily release meetings. * Other duties as assigned. Job Summary: Lead and coordinate the daily activates of the team to ensure testing processes run smoothly, products meet testing standards and all safety measures are adhered to. Qualifications Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Completes AAON's Production Leader Program. Leads a team of testers, including but not limited to assigning tasks, providing guidance and support of the team. Motivates and mentors team members to maximize productivity and quality. Collaborate with the production team to ensure testing timelines are met. Allocates resources, including labor and testing equipment, to support the testing plan. Monitors and enforce quality control processes to ensure products meet established testing standards. Investigate and address any testing related issues as they arise. Ensures all safety protocols and regulations are followed. Conducts safety training along with testing supervisor, audits and provides recommendations for safety improvements. Identifies opportunities for process optimization and improved efficiency. Implements changes and oversees process improvements to enhance productivity. Generates regular reports on performance, including productivity, quality, and efficiency metrics. Provides weekly updates to testing supervisor on testing status and challenges. Education and Experience: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3 years of experience in a testing role. HVAC background preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of production processes, testing procedures and safety regulations. Knowledge and understanding of HVAC equipment and operation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Good organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products and production management software and systems. Ability to obtain and maintain 608 universal refrigerant certification. 70.E / Arc flash training. Able to read and understand electrical schematics. Ability to communicate in written and spoken English language. Work Environment: Ability to regularly lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time during shift. Required to wear proper personal protective equipment.
