Engineering technician job in Fort Worth, TX
Job Description
Paragon is seeking an Electronic Test Technician to join our team in our Fort Worth, Texas office!
Requirements:
Adhering to a strict quality control program (NQA1)
Perform functional testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide variety of complex electronic components
Design, fabricate and implement test set ups to meet testing requirements
Perform failure analysis of various components
Perform fit, form, and function comparison analysis of replacement components
Dedication/qualification of commercially available components for safety related applications in nuclear utilities
Testing and troubleshooting with digital oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, wave generators and assorted test equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks
Additional duties and tasks assigned by management
The following are not required but are desired:
Perform builds and repairs independently, familiar with the tools, MTE and equipment to be employed and shall have demonstrated proficiency in their use
Perform component level repairs
Demonstrate capabilities in basic fabrication techniques including resistance testing, cabling, and skills with manufacturing tools
Perform repairs on circuit boards
IPC Certification
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; Associate degree in electronics preferred
5 years of prior experience in manufacturing testing required (military experience accepted)
Able to communicate effectively across all functions of the organization
A high attention to detail with good documentation skills, and able to write legibly
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Follow safety procedures
Has time management, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in basic computer skills (file organization, email, etc.)
Proficient math skills
Proficiency in using the following equipment: meters, Variacs, power supplies, megger, hi-pot, o-scope, soldering tools, and calipers
Being present, in the moment with a questioning attitude while being persistent with finding solutions

As a Tier IV Electronics Technician, you'll take a leading role in equipment reliability, automation optimization, and process improvement across HiTHIUM's U.S. manufacturing operations. You'll combine hands-on technical expertise with data-driven decision making to increase uptime, reduce recurring failures, and enhance system efficiency. This position represents the transition from advanced technical capability to leadership in reliability and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to identify systemic issues, develop long-term solutions, and guide technical initiatives that elevate plant performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for high-impact downtime events and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Develop and execute reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies for automated systems and robotics.
Support PLC and controls logic optimization in collaboration with engineering.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement using data from EAM, MES, and production KPIs
Drive initiatives in predictive and condition-based maintenance (vibration, thermography, harmonic, etc.)
Coordinate technical training and knowledge-sharing across technician tiers
Support new equipment commissioning and contribute to design feedback for maintainability.
Partner with cross-functional teams to execute improvement projects that enhance performance, safety, and efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
7+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, automation, or reliability engineering
Advanced understanding of PLC networks, robotic systems, and automated controls
Strong background in preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
Experience leading technical projects and coordinating multi-discipline teams.
Ability to analyze equipment performance data and translate findings into actionable plans
Familiarity with RCA tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA) and CI principles (Kaizen, TPM)\
Excellent communication, documentation, and mentorship skills.
Effective communication and teamwork in cross-functional settings.
Work Environment & Schedule:
Manufacturing environment with exposure to high-voltage equipment, moving machinery, and automation systems.
Rotating shifts or on-call support may be required depending on production needs.
PPE compliance is mandatory, including electrical arc flash protection when working on live systems.
