This position involves coordinating the collection of random samples from production batches and conducting a variety of complex testing processes to measure the physical characteristics of products. This long-term opportunity operates on the 3rd shift from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
+ Understand and follow a batch ticket (recipe) with a high degree of accuracy for weights and measurements.
+ Perform a wide variety of complex testing processes on production batches to measure the product's physical or chemical characteristics, including viscosity, weight per unit of measure, flow, gloss, and color characteristics.
+ Conduct tests on materials from suppliers and production batches.
+ Perform standard testing procedures, including preparation of materials, with attention to detail and high quality.
+ Follow daily work plans for Lab Work Requests or project plans.
+ Accurately document work in lab notebooks, either physical or electronic.
+ Recognize roadblocks or anomalies and resolve them or communicate concerns with a chemist in a timely manner.
