Position Overview
The Residential Sales Plumber is responsible for all aspects of the installation, maintenance, inspection, operations, and repair of plumbing systems in residential buildings. This includes installing and repairing sinks, toilets, and other plumbing fixtures, as well as appliances including dishwashers and garbage disposals.
Key Responsibilities
Complete plumbing, drain cleaning, and other related in-home, service and install calls.
Serving the clients of the company by expertly servicing customers' entire plumbing system.
Wear floor savers while in the client's home and maintain a neat work area when performing a repair or scheduled service.
Always explain to the client the service you are performing. Explain and show the client how the company provides superior service.
Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services.
Re-check all plumbing repairs and installations after you've repaired or replaced it, before leaving the client's home to ensure everything is working properly and that we did indeed fix it right the first time.
Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans.
Explain the club memberships to the client, giving them an opportunity to join. Maintain an average of converting at least 25% of non-club members and maintain a 90% renewal rate on existing club members.
Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business.
Maintain your truck so that it is neat and clean on the inside and outside at all times. The truck is one of the best billboards that the company has. Park the truck for the maximum impact of the “billboard” when possible. Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure overall success of the business.
Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving.
Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings and retreats.
Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck.
Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations.
Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback and option sheets
Obey the company Code of Ethics and the Team Rules.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree preferred but not required
2+ years' technical and trade experience
In-depth knowledge of maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems
Understanding of the current regulations within the field
Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
General knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe use
Plumbing troubleshooting and repair
Provide an acceptable driver's abstract and maintain a valid driver's license
Strong customer service skills

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to pick-up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feet unassisted

Job Summary
Extensive knowledge of high pressure steam and air systems. Experience with commercial plumbing and hot water systems. Ability to weld high pressure steam systems is a plus, brazing and soldering piping systems is required. Ability to plan, layout, and install plastic drain systems. Assembles, installs, and repairs pipe fittings in a commercial setting
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
Inspect structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage hole for pipes in walls and floors.
Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
Cuts and threads pipe.
Bend pipe to required angle by use of pipe bending machine or by other mechanical methods.
Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, and nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.
Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints.
Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, hot water tanks, and water softeners.
Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending bursts in pipes, and opening clogged drains.
Welds holding fixtures to steel structural members.
Will be able to weld on piping, structural steel, and misc. welding.
Ability to repair Backflow devices.
Able to silver solder copper.
Performs preventative maintenance tasking as assigned.
Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities.
Maintain, organize, and control inventory supplies tools and equipment.

Set up and operate a thread machine with no instruction or guidance.
Cut, thread, and install pipe to required specifications using tools such as saws, pipe threaders, benders, and hand tools.
