Under the day to day direction of the on-duty nurse practitioner/physician assistant, the general purpose of the patient care technician (PCT) position is to maximize patient flow through the clinic while providing a stellar patient experience. - Collect the patient or responsible party's insurance information, if applicable; collect payments and log in the EHR
- Scanning all appropriate documents or alert the provider if they need to complete the scanning
- Escort the patient to the exam room and determine the patient's chief complaint
- Obtain vital signs and patient history and enter the data in the EHR in designated clinics with completed competencies
- Continue to process the patients in the waiting following appropriate clinic flow
- Provide waiting patients/potential patients guidance on registration, wait time, services that may be rendered, and payment methods
- Answer phones, responds to questions, and return patient/provider calls; complete daily patient call backs per policy
- Participate in and prepare for off-site events as needed
- Put together weekly order supplies for provider's approval; prepare packages, laboratory specimens, and mail for shipping
- If a float: Travel to designated clinics within a specified geographic area
- Advanced Patient Care Technicians, who have completed required competencies, may assist the provider within specified company protocols to obtain specimens for testing as ordered by provider on duty as well as report negative labs to patients per direction of provider

3G/H is a 37-bed telemetry/medical surgical unit specializing in but not limited to orthopedic/neuro/spine patients. . The unit serves as a secondary stroke unit as well as general cardiac/telemetry patients. The patients are transferred in from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from MD offices.

Job Summary:
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Patient Care Tech (PCT/HUC) provides direct patient care and related support.
Performs selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with Patient Needs
Personal Hygiene Support: Assist patients with bathing, dental care, grooming, and dressing while maintaining their dignity and privacy.
Toileting Assistance: Aid patients with bowel and bladder functions, ensuring they are not left unattended during bathroom assistance and documenting intake and output (I & O).
Nutritional and Mobility Support: Help patients with eating and drinking, serve meals, and assist in positioning for meals while ensuring proper body alignment during transfers and activities.
Perform Patient Care
Vital Signs and Documentation: Take and document vital signs, measure I & O, and assist in preparing patient histories and chart packs as delegated by nursing staff.
Procedure Preparation and Assistance: Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for medical procedures, and provide manual assistance as needed while ensuring adherence to hospital policies.
Direct Patient Care Tasks: Perform hygienic care, assist with feeding, and change dressings as delegated, all while maintaining patient privacy and dignity.
Participate in Responsibilities of Unit
Housekeeping and Supply Management: Complete assigned housekeeping duties, replenish and rotate supplies, and run errands as necessary to support unit operations.
Emergency Response and Quality Improvement: Respond to emergency codes and actively participate in quality improvement activities, focusing on patient safety and satisfaction metrics.
Safety Training and Compliance: Attend required safety training programs, understand responsibilities related to safety protocols, and collect and document specimens for laboratory analysis.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or currently enrolled in a nursing program with successful completion of first year and validation of clinical rotation.
Basic Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of hire.)
