Ben Calhoun is a co-CTO and co-founder at PsiKick, where he is responsible for technology direction and development.Dr. Calhoun is a renowned expert and frequent speaker on the topic of ultra-low-power systems-on-chip (SoCs) and Sub-Threshold circuit design. He has published over 100 peer reviewed papers and 2 books: Design Principles for Digital CMOS Integrated Circuit Design, NTS Press 2012, and Sub-Threshold Design for Ultra Low-Power Systems, Springer 2006. His specialization in ultra lower power circuit design has led to pioneering work on wearable body sensors, including the first demonstration of an integrated SoC for body sensor networks (BSNs) that is completely self powered, running from energy harvested from body heat. Dr. Calhoun is also a Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Virginia. Dr. Calhoun received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from MIT, where he and Dr. Wentzloff first began their collaboration.

David Wentzloff is a co-CTO and co-founder at PsiKick,where he is responsible for design, tape-outs, and implementation of PsiKick’s technology. Dr. Wentzloff is an expert in low-power wireless and RF circuit design. His research interests include ultra-low power RFICs for energy- and volume-constrained applications, clock generation, and IC techniques to improve synchronization of sensor networks, wireless body area networks, channel modeling, and all-digital phase-locked loops for precision frequency generation. He received a B.S.E. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from MIT, where he and Dr. Calhoun first began their collaboration. Since August 2007, he has been on the faculty at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he is currently an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
