Summary: This position is responsible for safely driving the 18-wheel mobile health and/or the 44 ft. RV mobile unit as assigned and registration on board the units. Primary responsibilities include communication with management and clinical team during their routes, precepting new driver in conjunction with other WOW drivers with clear documentation throughout the orientation period to leadership, providing mentoring to new driver, as necessary, and collaborating and interacting with others in a positive and effective manner. The Lead Driver will also be responsible for ensuring proper repairs and maintenance for all vehicles as assigned. The position requires onsite electronic medical record registration, and completion of mandatory training. Responsible for patient registration, including data entry of patient information and insurance verification, correction, or resolution. Other duties include work directly with vendors to receive quotes on repairs and maintenance. The Lead Driver will also be responsible for maintain appropriate license and registration for their assigned mobile units. Responsibilities And Duties: 30% Drives/parks semi-truck safely to Clinic sites, following accident policy immediately in case of an accident. 5% Sets up and tears down mobile units at each site. 15% Performs maintenance on tractor and trailer or RV when necessary. 20% Perform registration duties via CareConnect at assigned sites. Registration for this position involves but not limited to: Registration of new patients, updating patient information in CareConnect, scanning important forms, i.e., license and state IDs, checking patients in, discharging patients and printing AVS, and consenting and inquiring on all mandatory OhioHealth forms. i.e., General consent, HIPPA, patient rights and HCAP to name a few. 10% Communication with leadership and clinical team during their routes, providing mentoring to new drivers as necessary, and to collaborate and interact with others in a positive and effective manner. 15% Complete mandatory competencies, pre and post trip checks and communication to manager as necessary. Training of new drivers. 5% Miscellaneous job duties related to the program, i.e., Supply support, cleaning, if necessary, transportation of clients via chase van, and minor clerical work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Operates a motor vehicle in the provision of public transit services in compliance with all applicable DOT, federal, state, local, and system regulations and policies and ensures the safe and timely transportation of all passengers. Assists passengers as needed in the boarding and disembarking of the vehicle in order to ensure the safety of all passengers, including assistance during vehicle evacuation, as necessary. Boards and disembarks passengers, including those using common wheelchairs or other mobility devices, requiring the use of lift equipment and securement systems according to the system's policies and procedures in order to ensure the safety of all passengers. Completes daily paperwork using pen or pencil, as required, to ensure accurate reporting and records. Completes daily pre-trip inspection using the required inspection checklist to ensure the proper and safe functioning of the vehicle. Regularly inventories vehicle equipment and supplies; reports restocking needs in accordance with the system's established procedure in order to maintain a safe, functional vehicle. Fuels the vehicle; ensures that all vehicle systems are properly shut down; visually inspects the interior for any items left by passengers; locks the vehicle to maintain security. Assist riders with packages and grocery bags. Keep records of any unusual incidents occurring in relation to use of vehicle on accident forms.
