Essential Functions We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Tank Welding to serve as the primary technical expert for tank welding processes, standards, training, and continuous improvement. 15. Serve as Project Lead for major power plant projects.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree / diploma in relevant engineering discipline or high school diploma / trade certification.
* Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience related to technical aspects of thermal and diesel power generation O&M of which at least five (5) years have been in a senior department or facilities management level position.
* Significant power plant O&M and project experience.
* Ten (10) years of relevant experience related to development, implementation and completion of major construction projects.
* Strong mechanical, projects knowledge, and a sound understanding of the technical aspects of a thermal and diesel power plant process and maintenance requirements.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a multicultural team in order to complete project objectives.
* Ability to act with minimal direction.
* Able to work effectively within collaborating arrangements, and/or new processes or cultures.
* Ability to listen to and react appropriately to the client needs
* Strong interpersonal skills to move issues, and solutions forward.
* Initiates action promptly to accomplish objectives (being proactive).

Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our software operates to meet the demands of our customers. The Generator SME will be a part of the facility operations team and will be responsible for being the emergency and back-up generator system operations and maintenance expert. Support data center daily operations and global quality/standardization initiatives and will have a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
Minimum Qualifications
* 7+ years of experience in generator maintenance or diesel mechanic trade experience
* Bachelor's degree or trade certification in related field plus 3+ years relevant industry experience will be considered in lieu of 7+ years industry experience
* Working knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work
* Knowledge of power generation and transfer systems
* Knowledge of diesel fuel system components, fuel storage and fuel quality management

* Assist in creating processes and procedures for generators and related equipment
* Analyze data, develop metrics, and identify trends related to generator reliability. Contribute to generator maintenance and repair strategy
* On-site lead for root cause analysis activities in area of expertise
* Provide training to critical facility engineers on generators and supporting equipment
* Manage generator vendor relationships, scheduling, and work scope
* Supervise and validate generator vendor-performed activities (startup, commissioning, maintenance, etc.)
* Support cross-functional collaboration including all local and global partners, including EHS
* Travel expectations can be significant during the first 1-3 months for initial training and onboarding. After initial onboarding, travel expectations are 10-15%, and then ongoing occasional travel for factory witness tests, collaboration, training, etc
