M Health Fairview is seeking a PhysicianAssistant to join the NICU APP team at M Health University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. NICU locations also include: M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital, M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital, M Health Fairview St. John's Hospital and M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital.
The NICU PhysicianAssistant is a member of the health care team who works in collaboration with licensed physicians to provide comprehensive health care services to NICU patients and families. The NICU PhysicianAssistant will engage in independent decision making about health care needs; managing the care of NICU patients hospitalized with complex acute health problems. Diagnose, prescribe medications and interventions, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, coordinate the interdisciplinary health care team, plan and coordinate patients' discharge, rehabilitation, home health care and follow-up; ensuring continuity of care within the hospital setting. The NICU PhysicianAssistant will also perform procedures within their scope and realm of their collaboration agreement with their physician partner.

* Neonatal care at Fairview Health Services utilizes 60 Neonatal Advance Practice Providers.
* Ability to provide services at 5 metropolitan and suburban hospitals including: M Health University of Minnesota Children's Hospital, M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital, M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital, M Health Fairview St. John's Hospital and M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital.
* NICU APPs are available in the hospital 24 hours a day 7 days a week to assistphysicians and midwives in delivery room resuscitation/stabilization procedures, and assessment and ongoing management of infants in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit/Special Care Nursery.
* NNICU APPs are also part of the team to transport neonates from greater Minnesota communities.
* We have a fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC).
* Scheduled hours are flexible, with some weekend hours included.
* As a Pioneer Accountable Care Organization (ACO), our physicians use a multidisciplinary team approach in managing clinical care.
Qualifications:
* Graduate of an accredited PhysicianAssistant program.
* BC/BE through NCCPA.
* Licensed or ability to obtain a PA license with prescriptive authority through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
* Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
* Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges (if required).
* Patient care experience in the NICU is required, whether it be clinical rotations, work experience (including in another role such as an RT), or otherwise*

Responsibilities
Nurse Practitioners and PhysicianAssistants work collaboratively as a part of a multidisciplinary team and operate with a high level of autonomy. In this role, you will provide a comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting of appropriate laboratory tests and radiologic exams, diagnosis, treatment and management of chemotherapy side effects, and medical co-morbidities. In addition, you will provide educational support to patients and their families.
The Hematology hospital practice is a 24/7 work unit. Scheduling is blocked into quarterly schedules (4 quarters per year) with a requirement of 4 weekends per quarter and 2 holidays per year. Flexible scheduling, which incorporates opportunity to trade shifts inclusive of weekends and holidays, as well as a self-scheduling model that supports work-life balance. New staff will be trained during daytime hours for their first 9-12 months prior to transitioning to overnight coverage. Additional financial compensation is provided for evening, weekend, and night coverage.

**Responsibilities**
The inpatient APP provider is adept at evaluating and managing acutely ill adult patients in the PCU hospital setting. The inpatient role requires timely assessment and intervention in urgent and emergent situations. Provision of care includes but is not limited to: comprehensive physical assessment; ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests; management of chronic and acute medical conditions; prescribing medications and treatments; and counseling for health promotion and disease prevention. Patient and family education about disease process, post hospital follow up care plan and health promotion is an important part of this role.
Inpatient Cardiology consists of multiple service lines that the APP would work on caring for patient subsets with diagnoses including: arrhythmias, circulatory failure, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, ischemic disease, structural abnormalities and comprehensive cardiology. The APP hospital based provider will work collaboratively with consultants, cardiology fellows, other APP staff members as well as clinical assistants, nurses. Our services are covered 24/7 by APP staff, with additional compensation for evenings, nights and weekends.

The Division of Endocrinology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or PhysicianAssistant to work in our outpatient Thyroid Clinic. The APP will work both independently and in collaboration with consultants, fellows/residents, nursing, and sugical colleagues to provide high quality outpatient care in our busy thyroid practice. The primary focuses of this role will be the medical management of papillary thyroid cancer, thyroid cancer survivorship, and Grave's disease.
Provision of care includes, but is not limited to: comprehensive physical assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing therapy, and educating and counseling patients and their families.
