All employees must be willing to participate in working with training of behavioral problem clients. The behavioral problems may include both verbal and physically aggressive clients. 5. Provide a supportive and therapeutic atmosphere for all individuals receiving services and supports. 6. Administer medication and maintain accurate medication documentation. Ability to complete electronic documentation. 8. All staff/volunteers of Nishna Productions, Inc. will comply with state and federal regulations regarding HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). 9. Every employee/volunteer of Nishna Productions, Inc. is on a need to know basis regarding the Protected Health Information (PHI) of the individuals they serve. Individuals "must not have or be a carrier" of a serious infectious or communicable disease, such as but not limited to, incurable, fatal, or debilitating diseases, which cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodation. A current example would include, but not be limited to, tuberculosis. Determination of the existence of a serious disease is to be made by the proper medical authorities. 2. 18 years of age. 3. Previous similar job experience in teaching skills to individuals with unique abilities. 4. Prefer high school diploma or G.E.D. 5. Exercise sound judgment when the situation requires immediate decision-making. 6. Obtain and maintain a valid Iowa chauffeur's license. Must be willing to work with individuals who have behavior disorders, which may result in the display of aggressive outburst of a physical nature. 12. Must be flexible and willing to work different shifts/hours. 13. Must have the ability and desire to work with other employees as a team. 14. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. 15. The Substitute position requires one to be self-motivated. 16. Each employee of the agency may be required to physically assist an individual to regain their balance, transfer from a sitting, standing, or a prone position. Some individuals have physical handicaps and/or seizure disorders and must be assisted to insure their physical safety. Whenever possible, staff should assist one another when it is necessary to lift or transfer a consumer. Employee medical examination forms have been revised to include information regarding this responsibility. 17. Must not have been legally convicted of any type of assault, abuse, or bodily injury. VI. Physical Requirements: 1. Must be able to enter and exit homes that may or may not be accessible to everyone. 2. Must be able to work a full scheduled shift as assigned. 3. Must be able to carry necessary supplies to perform functions. 4. Must be able to provide physical care necessary to residents when performing direct care duties. 5. Ability to physically assist a consumer to regain his balance or to transfer from a sitting, standing or prone position. 6.
