The Radiation Therapist performs various radiotherapy treatments and simulations at a technical level requiring minimal supervision of technical detail. The radiation therapist may be assigned to provide specific instruction to technology students and / or ancillary personnel, and may be required to assist in the development of new techniques for simulations and / or treatments, in the use of new equipment and the development of new devices. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served. What you will do: Demonstrate knowledge of breast anatomy, pathological conditions and safe administration of radiation. Identifies and reviews patient's requisition for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information for the physician and patient. Working knowledge of all Mammography and stereotactic equipment, examinations, and protocols, as well as procedures that require the use of contrast agents and sterile techniques. Conduct and document quality control assuring equipment is within safe limits per MQSA and ACR guidelines.
