The John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University (SEAS) seeks applicants for a postdoctoral position in networking support for machine learning systems. The initial term for this position is one year; reappointment for a second year is contingent upon funding.
The postdoc will work closely with Minlan Yu and other group members focused on networking support for machine learning systems, as well as possibly other Harvard faculty.

About the Role:
The Lederman Fellowship at Fermilab is intended to attract exceptional postdoctoral candidates who have demonstrated outstanding ability in research and who, in addition, have a strong interest in education and outreach. Lederman Fellows are free to choose any area in Fermilab's broad experimental program for performing their research, including neutrino physics, research on the CMS experiment at the LHC and proposed future colliders, astroparticle physics, intensity frontier experiments such as Mu2e, quantum information science, and quantum sensor research. In recognition of Leon Lederman's commitment to the teaching of physics at all levels, Fellows are also expected to participate for a fraction of their time in education. THE ROLE
The Family Institute's Postgrad Program Fellowship is a one-year opportunity for recently graduated, relationally minded systemic therapists. It is a commitment to further clinical and professional development and provides a path to integrate into and grow at The Family Institute. The community is rich with resources, including a number of consultation groups, monthly Grand Rounds learning events, and other CEU and learning events free of charge. During their year of fellowship, fellows will also engage in additional didactic opportunities with experts inside and outside of TFI, be provided clinical supervision with sought-after clinicians, and personal mentoring sessions. Fellows will be expected to contribute to TFI's mission in various ways, and in return, can enjoy a supportive transition into the next step of their careers.
This one-year program is most valuable to clinicians early in their careers, as it is specifically tailored to the developmental stage of a recently graduated (within two years) clinician. This is a one-year role with an invitation to apply for a Staff Therapist position.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and maintain a clinical caseload.
Adhere to organizational policies, including timely documentation, engaging with Measurement Informed Care (MIC), and collaborative scheduling.
Attend required clinical meetings, supervision, and consultation.
Participate in all required Fellowship activities, including workshops and didactic meetings, mentorship opportunities, and professional development sessions.

The Division of Computational Pathology at Northwestern was formed to improve pathology practice and research through the application of AI techniques. We have created a research environment where pathologists and computational scientists from different backgrounds collaborate to develop AI tools and translate them into clinical practice. We maintain an institutional repository containing >100,000 images linked to diagnostic and clinical data, a dedicated computing cluster, and a platform for image viewing, annotation, and data management. Our hospital system is implementing digital pathology for clinical operations and has experience with operationalizing AI tools.
This position is supervised by Dr. Jeffery A. Goldstein and the primary appointment will be in the department of pathology on the Downtown Chicago Streeterville campus. Northwestern has a vibrant AI research community, with the Institute of Augmented Intelligence in Medicine and AI@NU. Why We Do This
For every 10 low-income students who enter high school, 7 will graduate on time, 4 will enter college, and only 1 will earn a college degree by the age of 24 (The Promise of College Completion, 2011). Finding interventions that improve the academic outcomes of low-income students is one of our nation's most urgent challenges. Very few educational interventions have targeted a key barrier to school success: “mismatch” between what regular classrooms deliver and the needs of students, particularly those far below grade level. The variability in academic achievement increases as students progress through school; by high school, many students in distressed communities can be three or more years behind grade level, especially in math, which research shows is a specific choke point in the pathway to graduation for high school students.
Our Results
SAGA tutoring has been the subject of multiple large-scale randomized controlled trials conducted by the University of Chicago. Results have shown that SAGA's in-school tutoring model is one of the most effective high school interventions ever studied. SAGA is committed to consistently and systematically testing variations to its model in order to offer the most affordable, implementable, scalable, and effective services to the districts, families, and students we serve. This work builds off of a randomized clinical research study by the University of Chicago, which was published by the National Bureau of Economic Research in 2013 and 2014, in which students gained up to 2.5+ years of math growth in one year of high-dosage math tutoring. This research shows that it is possible to make a difference in the academic trajectory of students in high-need urban communities-it is not too late.
Position Summary
SAGA Fellows commit 10 months of service to students in Chicago public schools. The Fellowship begins in mid-August and runs through the end of the 2018-2019 school year.
Responsibilities
Fellows guarantee the academic success of students by focusing intently on individualizing instruction and building personal and meaningful relationships with their students for the entire service year.
Each Fellow has a personal caseload of up to 14 students they work with every day. SAGA tutorials are embedded into the school day, with Fellows working with two students at a time for 7 periods of the 8-period school day.
Fellows contact families frequently about student progress. This communication forges trust, creates relationships, and keeps parents aware of the successes and needs of their children.
Every site has a coordinator who is responsible for observing, training, and supporting Fellows through the entire year. Fellows will be observed weekly and must be hungry for feedback.
Qualifications
Required qualifications, skills, and/or experience:
Passion for education reform and hunger for feedback.
Strong basic high school math skills.
Prior paid or volunteer experience with students is helpful.
Prior coaching, tutoring or teaching experience is helpful.
Peace Corps and other National Service alumni are encouraged to apply; those who are looking for a meaningful gap-year opportunity or those who are looking for a ramp-up opportunity into education.
Benefits
SAGA Fellows earn pay for every hour worked. In Chicago, Fellows earn $13.68 per hour and work an approximately 37.5 hour workweek, with an extra half-hour per day allotted for lunch. Those who work a full school year, plus training, will earn approximately $19,500 for the service term. Over 10 months, Fellows receive 7 days of paid time off. Fellows do not work on federal holidays, during school vacations, or on snow days. Health and dental benefits are available to those who need access. In addition, every SAGA Fellow receives intensive on-site professional development and training on effective instructional techniques and student behavior management. There is a genuine opportunity for advancement within the organization after the program ends in June.
