**What to expect:**
The Sales Trainee Program is a 12-month program designed to accelerate a career in sales by rotating through several elements of training that provide guided development, and on-the-job learning. This program offers opportunities for you to gain exposure in different areas of the business, shadow key partners, and receive formalized mentorship.
**Across the 12 months, you can anticipate the following:**
Learn:
+ Participate in workshops, programs, and other learning opportunities to enhance your sales skills and industry knowledge.
+ Engage actively in training sessions to understand the company's products, services, sales techniques, and processes.
**Shadow:**
+ Shadow experienced sales professionals to observe their interactions with clients, sales strategies, and negotiation techniques.
+ Observe the sales process from prospecting to closing deals, including customer relationship management and post-salesupport.
**Develop:**
+ Actively seek feedback from mentors, supervisors, and peers to enhance your skills and performance.
+ Participate in performance evaluations and assessments to track your progress, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and set goals for professional development.

**Program Graduation:**
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will move into one of our several sales destination roles. Final placement is based on a combination of individual preferences and business needs.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide support to the sales team in various tasks such as outlining project tasks and timelines, prospecting for new leads, and handling customer inquiries
+ Assist in the development of sales proposals, contracts, and other documentation required for closing deals
+ Supportsales projects and initiatives by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables
+ Interact with customers to understand their needs, address inquiries, and provide information about products or services
+ Capture feedback from customers to identify areas for improvement and enhance the overall customer experience

**Qualifications:**

Pre-Requisites:

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Identify and actively pursue new business opportunities to expand the current customer base by working with management in developing sales strategies and new account targeting.
Perform various duties including product application analysis, product selection, assisting the engineering community with specification recommendations and design development, estimating and scope development, bidding to contractors, and problem resolution.
Analyze competition in territory, devise sales strategy, and communicate sales strategy to management.
Primary focus in the Tennessee market.
Continually improve sales skills and product knowledge to promote a professional image in the field.
Foster and form strategic partnerships with Engineers, Owners, Contractors, and other market influencers to improve market positioning.
Represent Templeton and Associates Equipment Sales at industry events and organizations.
Assist the Director in the negotiation of contractual arrangements, both with Manufacturer Partners and Owners/Clients
Evolutionary approach for sales of one or more products represented by the company.
Document all sales activity performed in our internal Customer Relationship Management tool (Salesforce) for ongoing evaluation of the new business pipeline and measurement of sales.
Qualifications
12+ years of water and wastewater industry related experience, with 5+ years of sales experience. Knowledge of the municipal and industrial market in TN is a plus.
A successful associate will be results oriented, self-motivated, able to complete tasks in a timely manner, build relationships and enjoy a team environment
Strong technical background and experience in water and wastewater.
Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, chemical or environmental engineering is preferred. Professional Engineer license a plus.
Committee and board member roles with industry associations is a plus.
Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
Problem solving, leadership and listening skills
General digital literacy
Self-Motivator, ability to multi-task and learn quickly
This is a base plus bonus eligible role. The base compensation for this role is $82,800 - $180,000 anually.
