The Opportunity We are seeking a dedicated I ntermediate level Protective Security Officer to provide armed workforce security and safety by responding to and resolving issues pertaining to access control, accident and emergency response, medical response, workplace violence, active shooter events and other security issues. Under direct supervision, uses established procedures and guidelines to perform routine to moderately complex tasks and problem resolution. Performs all duties in alignment with USAA's Security Officer Standards. We offer a work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 5 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following location: Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. What you'll do: Understands and applies policies and procedures displaying basic knowledge on operational matters. Responds to critical incidents and takes direction on immediate actions to stop acts of violence, render first aid, and resolve issues during the response phase of Incident Management. Participates in training drills, receives feedback on response, and participates in after action reviews for emergency response situations. Monitors alarms, cameras, fire alarm systems, and access control programs along with radio traffic, dispatching officers, coordinating response actions for critical incidents and documenting activities for escalation to incident reports. Controls access for employees and visitors, creates and issues credentials, and responds to policy violations. Performs patrols of facilities/properties to prevent trespassing, theft, vandalism, parking/traffic infractions and unauthorized conduct impacting the safety of the campus. Enforces parking and traffic controls and composes incident reports. Completes duty assignments and on-the-job duty position training. Conducts post-related activities during special events and supports executive protection or law enforcement during incident response. Documents shift activities, and ensures detailed information is passed on to team members. Attends and completes all training sessions and responds to feedback from security management and the training team. Completes Defensive Tactics and Handgun training and Standards Evaluation, complies with USAA Force Continuum, issue/turn-in, storage/transportation procedures and maintains State handgun licensing. Maintains current first aid training. Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. What you have: High School Diploma, General Equivalency Diploma, or applicable trade/technical school diploma. 1 or more years of physical security, law enforcement, or military combat arms experience. Ability to operate computer programs for access control, camera systems, alarm annunciation, radio dispatch and general use of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must possess valid state driver's license. Job Offer contingent on passing the MMPI evaluation. Initial and continued employment conditional upon passing USAA's Protective Security training standards within 3 attempts (for initial and follow-on training cycles) and obtaining required state armed security license and/or certification for assigned post state within 6 months. What sets you apart: Ability to work 10 or 12 hour shifts: nights, weekends and holidays. Occasional overtime may be required. Experience responding to emergency incidents. Ability to respond rapidly and efficiently during emergency situations. Prior experience using security related systems. Report management system, two-way radios, visitor management systems. Demonstrated firearm proficiency. Possess current Private Protective Services Armed Guard License. Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $ 43,680.00 - $65,750.00. Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. This is a hybrid role that requires some on-site work (inside our Indianapolis, Indiana office). The role collaborates with other departments to provide our members with a concierge level experience. You will learn how to be the expert to best serve our members: Coordinate credit union services for members by cross-selling new products and services as appropriate. Interview clients to determine financial position, resources, assets available to invest, financial goals, lending needs and client background. Collect and analyze personal and business financials to determine solutions and advice for structuring deposit and lending transactions. Advise members concerning business management and personal financial matters and build consistent and long-term relationships. You will make a difference as you live out our purpose: Work closely with other areas of the credit union being the primary liaison between the member and the rest of the organization. Follow up with members on a regular basis through phone calls, emails and personal visits. Prepare and deliver clear, effective and professional presentations to members and outside business partners. You will continue to grow professionally: Actively drive new business development for targeted client segment through internal and external referral sources. Proactively work with members to identify additional needs-based solutions. Develop and maintain high net worth client relationships for existing members in book of business. Assure all transactions are in compliance with pertinent laws and regulations. Maintain professional and community relations to increase the credit union's visibility and new business opportunities, and to further personal development. You will help grow the business: Continue to develop knowledge of industry practices, products, and professional growth. Participate in appropriate learning opportunities to maintain expertise. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University preferred. Series 7 & 66 licenses and Indiana insurance license preferred. A minimum of 3 years' experience in financial services preferably with high-net-worth individuals. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability to leverage skills, knowledge, and experience to invest in our community. Ability to foster an inclusive environment that promotes belonging.     Job Title: Industrial Security Specialist Reports To: Sr. IT Manager/FSO, Marine Products Director, or Export & Defense Compliance Manager FLSA Status & EEO Code: Exempt & Professional Division/Department: IT Department Level of Work: II We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to oversee and manage all aspects of our industrial security program in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other applicable government regulations. This role will serve as the primary liaison between our company and government security agencies, ensuring the protection of classified and controlled unclassified information and the integrity of our secure facilities. The Industrial Security Specialist will serve as the primary company point of contact for all industrial security concerns and will provide security expertise, guidance, and advice to management and staff within the company. The candidate will be required to conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, implement administrative programs, and implement security measures and programs to meet all requirements. This position will serve as the Facility Security Officer(FSO). Key Results Areas: Level II: Service - Coordinating "production" with problem solving and prevention Resource management (material and people) * Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and annual refresher training for cleared employees. * Oversee physical security measures including access control systems, alarm systems, and visitor management. * Prepare for and support government security inspections and audits (e.g., DSS, DCSA, BPMI, or other Government agencies). * Investigate and report security violations, incidents, and suspicious activities. * Maintain accurate records of classified material, secure containers, and security equipment. * Collaborate with program managers, HR, IT, the Export & Defense Compliance Manager, and legal teams to ensure compliance across departments. * Serve as the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO), managing insider threat awareness and reporting. * Government compliance with mandates, including but not limited to, CMMC, ITARCISA, FISMA NISPOM, ICDs, OPNAVINST 9210.3, NNPI, CUI, NIST SP 800-171, and NIST SP 800-53 * Coordinate with and support the Export & Defense Compliance Manager to ensure IT Enterprise Infrastructure complies with applicable U.S. export laws and regulations. * Coordinates with the Marine products leads and managers on information security matters * Trains junior security staff Resource scheduling, output management and reporting * Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures in accordance with NISPOM, DoD directives, and company standards * Manage personnel security clearances, including initiation, reinvestigation, and continuous evaluation through DISS and NISS * Manage reporting and reporting of employee foreign travel * Able to administer day-to-day security programs: personnel processing, program reviews, incident reports, visit requests, DD254 forms, and related. * FOCI Reporting in NISS and any other FOCI related documentation including the SF328 * DD2345 edits and renewals * Performs and documents self-inspections * This role ensures that proper Industrial Security procedures are followed in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117, Department of Defense (DoD) 5205.074 V1-4, DoD 5105.21 V1-3, ICDs 704 & 705 and other customer specific security requirements Continuous Improvement * Obtains and maintains certifications and/or security clearance * Attend local and national security conferences Professional Development (self and reports) * Ability to communicate -oral or written - technical information to all levels of end-users * Maintains various small projects * Performs other related duties as required and assigned Qualifications: To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required. Education and Training: * U.S. citizenship and current Secret or higher DoD security clearance * Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an FSO or in a similar security role within the defense industry. * Thorough knowledge of NISPOM, DISS, NISS, NBIS, and other security platforms. * Completion of FSO certification training through CDSE or equivalent. * DoD FOCI-related security experience * Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with discretion. * Familiarity with COMSEC, OPSEC, and classified contract requirements is a plus.
