FieldService Engineer (St Louis, MO Region)
Summary:
The FieldService Engineer for BD Pyxis Dispensing Devices is accountable for independently providing efficient and effective fieldservice support to all BD dispensing customers within a given territory in a timely manner, including, but not limited to service and repair, preventative maintenance, calibration, installations, and limited cross-functional support for Sales and Implementation teams.
The FieldService Engineer is a remote field-based position with daily travel to our customer locations within the assigned territory. Ideal candidates will reside within a 30-mile radius of where the position is based. Company vehicle provided. 5% overnight travel possible and a valid driver's license is required.
Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems in healthcare facilities, including remote troubleshooting and on-site service, while managing work orders through diagnosis, resolution, documentation, and escalation when necessary.
* Execute preventive maintenance programs and deliver efficient fieldservices including installations, repairs, calibrations, and customer training, while maintaining proper inventory of service parts according to company policies.
* Maintain detailed documentation of all service activities, expenses, and time distribution while properly securing and maintaining company assets such as vehicles, tools, and inventory.
* Demonstrate superior troubleshooting abilities for both hardware and software issues, with the capability to work independently while knowing when to engage team leadership for advanced problem resolution.
* Commit to ongoing professional development through continuous training on products and applications, attending approved seminars, and maintaining thorough knowledge of corporate procedures including customer complaint handling and Medical Device Reporting requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
* Associate Degree in Healthcare Technology or related technical field, or 5-7 years of equivalent work experience, with demonstrated hardware/software/IT support experience for both proprietary and standard applications.
* Must possess CompTIA A+ Certification and Customer Support Certification, along with proven experience in computer electronics, Windows OS, networking, and medical/electromechanical device service and repair.
* Position requires 24x7 on-call availability in a customer-facing environment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and physical capability to lift a minimum of 70 pounds.
* Must demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, computer proficiency, excellent verbal/written communication skills, and effective time management, along with maintaining a valid driver's license that meets BD's auto safety standards.
* Must provide and maintain proof of comprehensive immunizations including Hepatitis B, Influenza, MMR, Varicella, annual TB/PPD testing, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis, and COVID-19 to ensure access to customer sites for performing essential job functions.

Summary
Under direct supervision of the Service Manager, the FieldServiceTechnician will perform new equipment installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repair of BLM equipment at the customer site. Facilitates timely resolutions to customer issues and/or questions while maintaining a positive client relationship.

The Engineering & Maintenance Technician I/II is responsible for performing corrective and preventative maintenance and support services for the building(s) and all equipment for a GMP Radioligand Therapies Production Facility. Responsible for reliable, efficient, and sustained operation of the facility and all equipment. Additionally supports current project operations and site goal objectives and ensures compliance with regulatory, corporate, and site requirements related to their functional area.

The working shift will be adjusted (1st or 2nd) after initial onboarding and training completion.
Job Description
Major accountabilities:
* Adhere to Novartis Quality Policies and procedures as they pertain to the position to ensure that all products are safe, pure, effective and of the highest quality.
* Perform a wide range of maintenance repair activities on production equipment, lab equipment and building management systems.
* Assist in troubleshooting and repair of process equipment (example: containment isolator systems, filling line equipment and associated utility connections) which may include mechanical, electrical wiring, pneumatics, motors, pumps, vacuum systems, HVAC, control systems, compressed gases, filling line, under little to no supervision.
* Interpret P&IDs, equipment/system layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications in planning and performing maintenance and repairs.
* Support 24x7 site-based operations after startup.
* Write/revise accurate operational procedures, training documents and maintenance procedures for various production and utility systems.
* Provide radiation safety program support, responsible for calibration and functionality of all radiation detection equipment
* Completes Equipment Work Order Thoroughly, and Accurately and Documents them in the System
* Supply information and technical data for securing spare parts.
* Provide responsive customer support with emphasis on customer satisfaction.
* Perform startup and commissioning activities as required.
* Support and/or perform investigations / deviations from an engineering/maintenance perspective and help with data for timely closure of deviations and CAPAs
* Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing process related equipment within a cleanroom environment.
* Complete and provide accurate documentation, as required in cGMP operations.
* Oversee work and provide training of less experienced maintenance technicians and/or new technicians.
* Other related duties as assigned.
* Use of CMMS system for documentation of relevant work.
The salary for this position is expected to range between $22.84 and $42.45 per hour for the Engineering & Maintenance Technician I and is expected to range between $30.58 and $56.82 per hour for the Engineering & Maintenance Technician II.
The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.

The BD family is seeking responsible and committed people to join our team of professional FieldService Engineers for the support of the BD Medication Management solutions (MMS) automated dispensing segment. The BD Pyxis brand combines proven technology with practical intelligence to prevent medication errors, help free up clinician time to focus on patient care, increase the predictability of medication availability and reduce inefficiencies in the medication use process. At almost every point in the medication use process, safety and efficiency can be increased with the comprehensive capabilities of the Pyxis medication management system.
Position Overview
This is a remote field-based position requiring daily travel to customer locations within your assigned territory. A company vehicle is provided, and while the position primarily involves day travel, approximately 5% overnight travel may be required.

Core Responsibilities
* Provide both remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems in healthcare facilities, including DHA/DoD facilities
* Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders; diagnose and resolve hardware and software system issues
* Maintain ownership of work orders, escalating complex issues to team leadership when necessary
* Implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment
* Support Sales and Implementation teams as needed
* Perform installations, in-servicing, repairs, preventive maintenance, calibration, and sales support
* Maintain accurate small parts inventory and follow inventory control procedures
* Provide detailed documentation of field activities, expenses, and time distribution
* Participate in ongoing training to advance product knowledge and technical skills
* Understand and follow corporate policies, including customer complaint handling and Medical Device Reporting
Required Qualifications
* High School Diploma
* 3-5 years of combined Hardware/Software/IT experience supporting both proprietary and standard applications
* Experience with 24x7 on-call support in a customer-facing/fieldservice environment
* Strong mechanical, computer, verbal, written, and time management skills
* Proficiency with computer electronics, Windows OS, and networking
* Valid driver's license that meets BD's auto safety standards
* Ability to lift a minimum of 70 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
* Associate Degree in Healthcare Technology or other technical field,
* Customer Support Certification
* Experience working as a hospital pharmacy technician
* Experience in a hospital Bio-Med environment
* Prior military Bio-Med experience
* Automated Teller Machine (ATM) service experience
