    As Food Runner, you'll be responsible for quickly and accurately delivering orders from the kitchen to customers at the restaurant. They help wait staff maintain a clean environment for restaurant patrons throughout the dining experience. Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving their food in a timely and accurate manner. Your Responsibilities: * Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables rapidly and accurately * Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff * Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies) * Assist the wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins * Serve welcome drinks and hors d'oeuvres, upon guests' arrival * Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature) * Check in with customers and take additional orders or refill water, as needed * Remove dirty dishes and utensils * Answer guests' questions about ingredients and menu items * Inform restaurant staff about customers' feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check) * Varying Shifts - Days, Nights, Holidays, Weekends Skills & Qualifications: * Experience as a food expeditor or similar entry-level role in a restaurant * Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules * Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours * Availability to work various shifts, including weekends * Multi-tasking abilities * Good oral communication skills * Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment * Degree in hospitality or restaurant management is a plus Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift up to 30lbs following appropriate safety procedures. * Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and occasionally climb. * Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner. * Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (wind, heat, cold, rain, etc.). * Schedule: Flexible What We Offer: As a full time non-Exempt associate, you will be eligible supplemental benefits including dental, and vision. Job Requirements: Serving and replenishing food; performing cashier services, cleaning dining facilities (to include both dining rooms, kitchen and bathrooms), equipment and utensils; cleaning tables in the dining areas; handling food, supplies, and equipment; and maintaining quality control. Special Requirements: In special and emergency situations, including, but not limited to mobilization and surge requirements: The Contractor shall perform the following additional tasks in the event of contingency, emergencies, or special events: cooking; baking; serving and replenishing food; preparing vegetables and fruits for the salad bar to ensure continued service and line servers. Subsistence and Material Handling Rooms. The Contractor shall be responsible for dusting shelves, sweeping and mopping floors in cold storage and dry storage areas. Food Preparation Surfaces. Set up and close down serving lines in accordance with the Food Service Production Schedule; Set up serving lines and salad bars at least 15 minutes, but not more than 30 minutes, before the start of the meal period; The Contractor shall cut and portion pastry items in accordance with standard recipes, prepare dessert displays and replenish desserts as needed throughout the meal period. Raptor Caf Grab and Go. The contractor shall make up boxes and containers, assemble/prepare sandwiches/raps, and pack all menu meal components for pickup by others. The contractor shall clean and sanitize all dining room tables, chairs, or benches at a rate sufficient to ensure availability to customers. Replenish dining table items (napkins, salt, pepper, condiments, etc.) so that they are available to all patrons without waiting. Beverage Bar and Dessert Display. The contractor shall prepare coffee and all other beverages in accordance with standard recipes and replenish the beverages as needed throughout the meal period. The contractor shall, in accordance with (IAW) standard recipes, prepare dessert displays and replenish desserts as needed throughout the meal period. Cashier Service Guest Flow Rate. The contractor shall perform cashier duties for each meal period maintaining a flow rate of guests to correspond with serving line flow rates specified in this contract. Sanitation Requirements. The contractor shall comply with all federal and Air Force mandated sanitation requirements to include Air Force Instruction (AFI) 48-116, Food Safety Program and TB MED 530. The Contractor shall not use steel wool for any cleaning purposes. Housekeeping Services. The contractor shall cleanup those areas that immediately affect customer service to include appearance of the dining facility. Floor Cleaning; Spot Floor Cleaning; Chair Cleaning; Lavatories; Kitchenware; Stainless Steel and Brass Polishing; Food Holding Boxes; Refrigeration and Refrigeration Display Equipment; Freezers; Vegetable Peeling Machine; Ice Making Machines; Toaster; Grills and Oven; Other Housekeeping Tasks; Waste Management. The contractor shall clean the area around the Crossbow Dining Facility (B140), and the Raptors Caf (B759). Contractor personnel shall: Sweep and clean in and around entrances, exits and sidewalks as required to maintain a neat and clean facility appearance at all times. Cleaning includes removing all paper, trash, and cigarette butts up to 50 feet around the entire building. All entrances, exits, and sidewalks leading to and from the facilities shall be free of snow and ice prior to and throughout each meal period. Application of ice melt shall be accomplished after snow removal. Ice melt will be furnished by the government. Decorating. Extended Services. Emergency situations, i.e. pandemics, accident and rescue operations; civil disturbances; weather warnings; and base alerts may necessitate the Crossbow Dining Facility and Raptor Caf to operate on an extended basis of up to 24 hours per day. The contractor shall provide extended services IAW PWS section 7.1.3. Qualifications: At least one year of prior customer service/food service experience preferred. Must have a demonstrated proficiency in the English language. Ability to operate a computer and basic applications such as email and Microsoft Office. Must possess excellent customer service skills and experience dealing with very diverse cultures. Environmental: Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to lift items weighing up to (40) pounds. Ability to stoop, reach, bend, twist and carry equipment. Ability to employ hand dexterity in the use of equipment.     The role of Food Expeditor is to ensure strong communication between the front of the house and the kitchen. The expeditor will be extremely knowledgeable about all dishes on the menu. They will be very organized and able to multi-task as well as keep calm under pressure. To contribute to the restaurant's food and beverage service to the highest quality and professionalism. Objectives and Goals Contribute to the food and beverage service within the restaurant. Adheres to company standards of service quality, preparation, and presentation. To ensure strong communication between kitchen and front of house staff. To relay important messages regarding orders and tables to both the kitchen and front of house staff. To ensure allergy precautions are made in the kitchen and front of house. To organize and manage orders and tickets, ensuring timings are correct. To notify management of any incorrect, complimentary, or void orders or tickets. To study and memorize allergies, to understand how contamination may happen in the kitchen and front of house, and actively work to prevent cross contamination. Oversees the pass, ensuring dishes are served in a timely manner to the best standard. Ensures readiness and makes priorities in case of last minute changes to reservations. Confers closely and regularly with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and General Manager or manager on duty. Adheres to all health, sanitation and food safety rules and regulations. Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately. Ensures that employees work in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others.
