Education/Experience:
Intern must be currently pursuing an education in a STEM related field of, physics, Chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or materials science.
Successful candidates will be pursuing a BS, in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Materials Science and would have fundamental course work completed in their respective major.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote).

Help execute tests and experiments to optimize module processes and performance.

Operation of production equipment, including maintaining equipment uptime.

Optimize equipment related processes for production development projects.
Design and run test plans to further investigate continuous improvement for production process.
Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.
Estimated Salary Range:
$22.00-$25.00 Hourly.

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

Job Summary:
PsiQuantum was founded in 2016 with the singular goal of building a general-purpose, fault tolerant, silicon photonic quantum computer. We have assembled a world class team of engineers and scientists who are working on the entire quantum computing stack, from hardware to applications.
We offer a competitively paid internship and industrial placement opportunity working on the solution of partial differential equations (PDEs) with a fault-tolerant quantum computer (FTQC). The internship has a duration of 3-6 months with a flexible start date throughout the year. This is a remote position in Europe, preferred in Berlin, Germany (we have colleagues in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany).
Classical computers have been used for a long time to solve PDEs. However, they are reaching their limits for large-scale settings and very complex dynamics. Solving classically intractable problems with a fault-tolerant quantum computer requires new methods tailored to industrial applications. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who want to join this exciting effort and engage in cutting-edge research to advance quantum computing as a real-world technology. As an intern, you will collaborate with world experts in fault-tolerant quantum computing for PDE solutions. You will contribute to developing practical applications for large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computers in PDE and ODE problems.
The internship role requires a challenging mix of creativity, analytical skills, and knowledge of the numerical solution of linear systems, PDEs and ODEs.

Security Clearance
This position does not currently require a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.
Sandia will conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. About Our Team
Sandia/California's Thermal/Fluid Science and Engineering Department is a multidisciplinary group of engineers and researchers who specialize in fluid mechanics and heat and mass transfer. The work mix in the group includes developing theory and models, performing scientific and high-performance computing, and executing applied engineering analysis for a range of experiments and mechanical designs. The group plays two primary roles in science-based engineering at Sandia: (1) developing new computational methods, capabilities, and tools to describe fluid mechanics and heat transfer; (2) performing computational analysis to predict the design performance of engineered systems in defense, energy, and industry applications. Recent activities within the group include heat transfer modeling, porous media reacting flow modeling, multi-phase flow modeling, battery modeling, hydrogen storage and safety technology, fluid dynamics modeling, combustion and heat transfer modeling, turbulent heat transfer simulation, and applied uncertainty quantification to all of these application areas.
Sandia/California's Mechanics of Materials Department performs experimental and analytical studies to understand the mechanical behavior of materials. Our work consists of both experimental efforts covering the entire discovery-characterization-validation spectrum and the development of models to simulate material responses under various loading and environmental conditions, at scales from atomic to continuum. In addition, computational methodologies are developed to allow implementation of the material models for high performance computing simulations. A current focus of the department is in the area of predicting material failure at various length scales.
Sandia/California's Multi-Physics Modeling and Simulation Department and Modeling and Simulation of Engineering Applications Department both conduct a wide range of computational simulations, including linear-elastic static; large-deformation, nonlinear structural dynamics; hydrodynamics; and solid mechanics. To complete these simulations, the department uses a variety of state-of-the-art analytical tools. Typical departmental programs include the following: detailed structural and thermal analyses of weapon systems; analysis-based design guidance for weapon components; the development of forging and welding modeling capabilities; pressure vessel analyses, including aging and failure; hydrodynamics modeling and simulations; and failure model development and implementation (metals and composites). In addition, a current major departmental focus is the development of science-based failure models and mesh-convergent numerical methodologies.

Security Clearance
This position does not currently require a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

As a Backend Engineering Intern on the ALSO backend team, you'll join a group of engineers building the cloud systems that power the connected experience behind Also's EVs. You'll contribute to developing features, improving data pipelines, and supporting APIs that make our vehicles smarter and more reliable.
This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in backend software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and IoT systems. You'll learn from experienced engineers while contributing to real product features that impact customers and our connected fleet.
What You Will Do
Collaborate with the backend team to assist in building and testing components of our platform.
Contribute to API development and write tests for microservices and data processing workflows that support connected EV features.
Work with mentors to improve reliability, scalability, and observability of backend systems.
Support integration of telemetry and analytics systems that enable insights into fleet performance.
Contribute to development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
Participate in code reviews and team discussions to learn best practices in modern backend engineering.
