Primary Responsibilities for Dishwasher:

Perform general/routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
Clean and dry floors to avoid slip/fall accidents.
Separate linen from other debris.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
Knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
Utilizes protective equipment.
Reports unsafe conditions to management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware so that it can be put through the dish or pot machine properly. Quickly wash all ware and replace in storage areas as designated. Physical strength and stamina are essential to this position due to the high activity level.
Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per hotel standards.
Clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pans promptly and completely so cooks can carry out their work.
Perform general/routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
Clean and dry floors to avoid slip/fall accidents.
Separate linen from other debris.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
Knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
Utilizes protective equipment.
Reports unsafe conditions to management.
Reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management.
Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance. (Specific standards outlined in team member handbook).
Perform any related duties as requested by management.
Assists other Kitchen Personnel when need.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Hold a current Food Handler Card.
Knowledge of service ware and how to maintain same in order to compliment guest experience.
Ability to operate commercial kitchen dish machine in accordance with hotel and health department standards.
Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.
Ability to push/pull service carts weighing up to 100 lbs
Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 100 lbs
Constant twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.

Duties and Essential Functions

Be proficient using the dishwashing equipment available in the kitchen
Sweep kitchen floors and wipe down counters in cooking work area
Wipe down cooking equipment used by chefs for food preparation
Take out trash
Return all cleaned dishes and utensils to their appropriate storage area
Check cleanliness quality of washed dishes prior to storing
Approach all interactions with residents, guests and co-workers in a positive and courteous manner
Supervision
This position reports to the Chef de Cuisine and takes direction from the Chef de Cuisine and the Food & Beverage Manager.
Work Environment
Kitchen environment can be hot, noisy and stressful, especially during the busiest hours
Dishwasher creates very hot water and steam
Adhere to dress code identified by Chef de Cuisine to ensure a safe and efficient work atmosphere
Hours of operation include nights, weekends and holidays
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand throughout shift. Possess excellent physical condition and stamina
Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, climb, push, pull or lift items weighing up to 30 pounds
Requires auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written or oral instructions and procedures
Ability to work quickly and efficiently while getting along with co-workers
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a non-exempt position. The work schedule will likely change throughout the year to accommodate the business needs of the property.
