It provides technical support to other programs and assists businesses, trade associations, agencies, environmental groups, and community members with permitting and compliance issues. The division is responsible for implementing the Air District's Facility Risk Reduction Program to reduce health risks from existing facilities or sources. The position will work on the Air District's Toxic Air Contaminant (TAC) Control Programs, designed to identify, assess, and reduce public exposure to toxic air contaminants. The programs integrate federal, state, and local regulations to: Monitor and evaluate TAC emissions from permitted facilities through annual emissions inventories and health risk assessments Implement the Air Toxics New Source Review (NSR) program, requiring preconstruction review and risk assessment for new or modified TAC sources Operate Facility Risk Reduction Programs, targeting existing facilities to identify, assess, and reduce health risks, especially in communities with disproportionate air quality impacts Engage with community stakeholders and provide transparent access to emissions data and health risk information through annual reports and online tools These efforts have led to significant reductions in health risks from toxic air contaminants across the Bay Area. The Engineering Division also engages in programs and projects including, but not limited to: Dispersion modeling and health risk assessments for toxic emissions Verification of emissions inventories Database development and data management Development of new regulations or amendments of existing regulations Strategic planning of division programs The Principal Air Quality Engineer for the Engineering Division may perform other complex and highly specialized air quality engineering work, including: Processing permit applications for complex facilities Analyzing air emissions and other metadata Evaluating program effectiveness Providing project leadership This role also involves peer review, staff mentoring, and training. The Associate Quality Manager is charged with assisting the Quality Control Manager in carrying out duties and responsibilities to ensure acceptable product quality at each phase of the manufacturing process. The Associate Quality Manager ensures a timely and orderly distribution of quality cement to our valued customer base. Managing timely receipt and quality of raw materials associated with challenges imposed by current environmental regulations is a necessity. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing the nightly cleaning of subcontractor cleaning crews of each store within a designated region and ensuring the quality of work meets company and customer standards. Normal work hours are overnight and during the weekend. Changes to hours can be made at the discretion of the Account Director or to meet client's/account needs and service requirements. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop monthly visit schedule to ensure all assigned locations are attended to and all customer store managers are satisfied. In between visits, maintain continuous and direct contact with Store Managers via phone and email. Conduct Quality Assurance inspections of at least twenty (20) stores per week; meet clients and provide subsequent reports to Subs and Customers. Utilize FSM to conduct weekly quality assurance inspections. Provide specific direction to Service Provider cleaning crews and follow up next day to ensure completion. Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationship with service partners. Tour and inspect locations with service partner during both day and overnight operations weekly to ensure that cleaning teams are following specific guidelines to proper floor care. Handle issues in the field for multiple locations. Monitor their Corrigo IVR report daily to ensure check in and out of cleaning technicians is occurring. Build back up staff and contingency plans for call off scenarios. Handle all necessary progressive counseling and performance issues with service team members for assigned area, in conjunction with HR and Account Director. Assume the position of a cleaner to address store needs, if needed. Provide a daily and weekly summary report on store visits, inspections, action items, wet work etc. to the Account Director. Responsible for changing out batteries on floorcare equipment as needed Act as point of contact and is available via phone 7 days a week for emergency services or situations. Visits locations on the weekend to oversee weekend activity. Schedule all wet work with Store Managers, coordinate resources with service partners, and directly oversee the work being completed. Ensure the satisfaction of the customer by obtaining a sign off sheet, a minimum of two days after the completed wet work. Complete professional development courses through company paid Fred Pryor program. Maintain customer satisfaction levels of 90% and higher for assigned portfolio. Perform other related duties as assigned by Account Director and Tec Division management team. Report any issues, concerns or important occurrences with customer or other stakeholders to Account Director or Assistant Account Director in a timely manner. Junior and Senior level engineer: Plan, research, design, update, maintain, and communicate engineering design and construction standards for transmission and distribution type and equipment. Ensure compliance of approved material, standards, and procedures through interaction with other departments. Research, analyze, and support uniform and best practices in providing solutions to related line construction and materials issues. Assist in providing technical and application training for Construction Planners and field service, construction, and maintenance personnel. Accountabilities * Engineer and design electrical distribution construction standards to ensure facilities that are reliable, cost effective and aligned with applicable US standards and codes. This would include but is not limited to performing a cost/benefit analysis of new materials and new construction standards. * Evaluate and monitor manufacturers' designs to ensure compliance with established specifications and guidelines. This would include the investigation and resolution of field-reported problems related to designs and materials, resolving material failure trends with suppliers, and making the appropriate changes in the standards or material specifications. * Through maintaining knowledge of current industry technologies and other utilities construction practices, develop and perform field studies of material and construction standards to recommend modification or replacement of material items used. * Update and maintain substation and transmission construction standards with the input and assistance of the Substation Engineering department, Line Design Engineering department, and Construction Committee. * Assist in providing technical and application training for Construction Planners and field service, construction, and maintenance personnel. * Actively seek out ways to improve job efficiency and standardization. * Participate in collaboration by attending team meetings and supplying ideas. Education and Experience Junior level engineer: * Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school * Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain EIT certificate within 12 months preferred. * Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license. * Must be capable of performing field inspections of electrical facilities, including negotiating the hazards and obstacles of typical construction sites with limited rough terrain walking. * Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. * Willing to travel (15% with some overnights). Senior level engineer * Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school with 10+ years of utility experience. * Proficient AutoCAD. * Professional Engineering (PE) license required for level IV engineers. * Must have the ability to express both technical and non-technical information to individuals or group in an organized, accurate and clear manner. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
