Position Overview: Are you a detail-oriented, analytical thinker with a passion for litigation? If so, Robbins LLP wants to hear from you. We are seeking a dedicated and driven Staff Attorney to focus on document review and related discovery work. The document review will consist primarily of review on complex shareholder derivative actions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Document Review: Review, analyze, and manage vast quantities of documents related to shareholder derivative actions to find the key documents that will be used at depositions, during motion practice, and ultimately, at trial. The primary document review platforms are DISCO and Relativity, but experience with other platforms would also be useful.
2. Communication: Effectively communicate findings, analysis, and recommendations to the team and clients in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
3. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with our legal team, including partners, associates, and paralegals, to develop legal strategies, arguments, and case theories.
Education and Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA accredited school and active bar admission in California required.
2. Previous experience in corporate litigation and document review preferred, ideally in shareholder derivative actions, securities class actions, or other complex litigation.
3. Legal research and writing skills and/or motion practice work preferred.
4. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and process large volumes of data efficiently.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
6. A commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.

About the Health & Human Services Team
The Health & Human Services Team is a collaborative and dynamic group of nine attorneys, one paralegal, and two legal secretaries. The team serves as general counsel for the Department of Public Health, the Human Services Agency, the City's programs for people experiencing homelessness, and certain other health-related City departments. This includes working with: The City's two public hospital facilities, its ambulatory and mental health clinics, and its street medicine teams; the Medical Examiner's Office; Jail Health; the Health Officer and Population Health; the Department of Disability and Aging Services (DAS); the Department of Children, Youth & Their Families (DCYF); Environmental Health; and the Department of Homelessness & Supportive Housing (HSH). This work includes assisting with Medical Probate (Probate Code Section 3200) petitions, tuberculosis (TB) civil detention petitions, legal issues related to involuntary mental health hold petitions (Welfare & Institutions Code Section 5150, etc.), Health Officer orders and directives related to the COVID-19 pandemic, other litigation as assigned, and permit and enforcement proceedings.
The team also advises the Mayor's Office, the Board of Supervisors, and other City officials and departments on matters relating to health care and human service programs. The team's responsibilities include: providing general legal counsel to the team's clients, including in relation to privacy and compliance, health care issues, and state and federal regulatory oversight of licensed facilities and professionals; interpreting myriad federal, state, and local laws governing the provision and funding of health and human service programs; drafting related local and state legislation; drafting and approving a high volume of contracts and advising on the City's procurement processes (including requests for proposals); advising the Health Commission, the Human Services Commission, and other policy and advisory bodies; and advising on the day-to-day legal issues that arise in the operation of major City departments, including in relation to public meeting and public records laws.
Certain matters involving these clients require specialized legal expertise and are either referred to other teams or advice is provided in coordination with other teams. The Trial Team generally represents these departments in litigation and the Labor Team advises them on personnel issues and handles employment litigation matters, generally with assistance from the Health & Human Services Team.
Deputy City Attorney Position and Responsibilities
Attorneys on the Health & Human Services Team are assigned a mix of client work and specific projects or assignments. Assignments change over time depending on client needs and attorney interests. The team's attorneys handle all aspects of their assignments, including issue spotting, legal research, client communication and coordination, document drafting and review, and other tasks as needed or assigned.
Qualifications

Licensed to practice law in California.

At least seven years of experience in the practice of law.
Experience advising on legal issues related to daily hospital operations, including patient care, consent, bioethics, risk management, medical staff issues, and licensing and certification.
Experience advising covered entities and business associates on adherence to HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, including familiarity with privacy/security breach protocols.

About the Complex & Affirmative Litigation Team
The team is a collaborative, nimble, and dynamic group of attorneys, paralegals, and legal secretaries. The team handles both affirmative and defensive matters, in state and federal court, in trial and on appeal. The team's docket is broad, and matters generally involve one or more of the following: novel legal issues, constitutional concerns, statewide and/or nationwide remedies and public policy reforms, or a large volume of litigants, witnesses, and/or evidence. In addition to representing the City and County of San Francisco, the team pursues affirmative litigation as determined by the City Attorney on behalf of the People of the State of California, to remedy unlawful, fraudulent, and unfair business practices throughout the state and public nuisances. The team also participates in the San Francisco Affirmative Litigation Project, a partnership between the City Attorney's Office and Yale Law School, which pairs Yale law students with lawyers across the Office who are developing and/or litigating complex affirmative litigation matters.
Deputy City Attorney Position and Responsibilities
Attorneys on the team handle both affirmative and defensive matters. The vast majority of matters require team members to work collaboratively with lawyers and staff across the Office. Job Description
About the Airport Team
The Airport Team is a collaborative and dynamic group, currently with seven attorneys and one legal secretary, with plans to add two attorneys and one legal secretary. The Team functions as in-house legal counsel to the Airport Commission, an enterprise department of the City and County of San Francisco, which owns and operates San Francisco International Airport (Airport). The Airport serves over 50,000,000 passengers annually. The Airport Commission has an annual operating budget of over $1 billion and a workforce of over 1,700 employees. The Team is located at the Airport.
Deputy City Attorney Position and Responsibilities
Attorneys on the Airport Team provide advice and counsel on a myriad of matters related to Airport management, development and operation. Attorneys advise on general governance under local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing Airport powers and duties. The attorney's role could include interpreting such laws or regulations; advising on the legal risks of a particular government action; advising on procurements and drafting contract documents; and drafting legislation and regulations. Team deputies primarily specialize in commercial real estate (leases and permits), land use and environmental regulation, design and construction, public finance, ground transportation, operations, procurement and contracts, information technology, and managing defense of government claims and litigation. While we practice in many areas, we are particularly looking for candidates with experience and an interest in at least one or more of the following:
Experience with public works contracts;
Experience with advising operations and/or facilities divisions;
Experience in intellectual property matters;
Experience with conducting and/or monitoring civil litigation, and legal issues related to defense of government claims subject to the California Tort Claims Act;
Experience in municipal, airport and/or transportation law, especially matters related to disadvantaged business enterprise programs, Americans with Disabilities Act, and/or Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.

About the Microsoft 365 Administrator II Position and Responsibilities
The Office seeks a Microsoft 365 (M365) Administrator II to provide guidance and support for the M365 platform and services including SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Power Automate, Power Apps, Intune, Entra ID, and more. This role will create modern, high impact SharePoint sites for the Office. This role will also serve as the primary administrator of Intune and Entra ID. Job Duties:

litigation in the Superior Court and Appellate Courts, and advising MVD personnel on a wide variety of
legal issues. These may include, but are not limited to, issues related to administrative proceedings, driver licenses, vehicle title and registration permit's, intergovernmental agreements and interagency service agreements, contracts of varying types with private entities, open meeting law and public records, data access issues, subpoenas, general constituent inquiries, interpretation of other statutory and regulatory provisions related to MVD activities and review of proposed legislation of administrative rules. The attorney may also be asked to provide legal advice and representation on a variety of topics to ADOT's Aeronautics Division, and various statutorily created boards or commissions, and be available to advise and consult with other attorneys in the Section.
